Thank you Dove, my Grannie was a rascal and used to miss out a vital ingredient when she shared a recipe But going to trust you! Sounds super, definitely going to try. I make a similar one with bacon so this will be a nice change

Lovely Chicky, fast becoming one of my favourite flowers Rudbeckia, so long lasting too.
Cake & Pie looked rather nice too Dove.
I am off out for a meal tonight, it is the gym's annual dinner, I wasn't brave enough to go last year as I didn't think my French was up to it, probably still isn't but I'm feeling braver. Food sounded too good to miss as well.
Bonne soirée all.

Home alone tonight (well if you don't count the dog). I can't decide whether to be all organised and get the house cleaned, washing done, bread made, all uber organised and get the accounts for work typed up, all....
... oooh rugby and a big thick blanket to hide underneath.
I've had to pull out the winter socks: the perks of having an internal central heating system that is missing a few essential bits of wiring. My toes are like ice cubes!
Evening all, just back from a hectic day of nanna duty. Mabel woke us up at 5 this morning and proceeded to stand on my specs. After a morning in Worcester getting them mended. I got home to a phone call from Meredith's school to say she was feeling ill and could I fetch her. I'm not going into details re the joys of my afternoon you really wouldn't want to know.
Might have a go at planting some bulbs tomorrow.
Cake and pie look delicious Dove.
I only sleep with a 4 tog quilt whatever the weather and it fits into the washer so gets laundered regularly.
Rugby is on. The dog has taken himself to bed! I thought the whole point of having a dog was someone to keep you company.
RUNNYBEAK: Reggies leg is so very *very* nearly there now. This week we started walking on tarmac again which caused a little limping to start with so we're trying to burn energy running in a soft grassy field which he adores (the council own this field and all that happens is a once a year steam rally in it. The rest of the year it is a beautiful dog walking field with paths through the long grass: lovely!) Hopefully he'll soon be back to two walks a day.
I feel quite a lightweight here. Due to my injury last night I was sleeping with clothes on (always a shocker), a 4 tog duvet, and a heavy patchwork quilt so thick that I could barely move underneath it. It was only 5'C outside! (We have to have the window open unless the snow is coming in). His Lordship is almost always too hot so its a struggle to find a happy balance. I wanted to go Norge and have two single duvets on the bed so we could have our own thickness but he was having non of it (so he'll have to put up with my extra blankets) as it wasn't very romantic. Romantic is not having freezy cold toes in my eyes.
I can't help but feel that rugby would be more appealing with less adverts.
Got some good tidying outside till after 7pm - cut the grass edges, scraped all the moss from the front path and swept it all, and put bark down under the front bit of hedge. Dinner's been had - a 'push past' as my Mum would have said. Baked potato, sour cream and leftover Bolognese
Lightweight duvet for me all year round. Jammies in the colder weather and a T shirt in summer. Don't like a cold bedroom though.
Hands are the issue for me re cold Clari
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all. 9.20am here but I'll be an hour different tomorrow because of daylight saving starting overnight. I'm feeling much better, so now just need to get my strength back. So, lets see, if we put the clocks back an hour, it'll be 8.20 and you'll be 22.20. Therefore by my calculations I'll add 4 and change the am/pm bit and we'l be right. Ok.
I had a laugh about the sharing of warmth in bed. Reminded me of my poor old Mum. She decided she wanted one of those new-fangled electric blankets. Dad said he didn't. So, being a determined lady, she bought a single bed one, stitched it lightly and carefully to the mattress and was very happy with the warm side of the bed. I'm sure you can guess the next part. She said she would wake up in the night with Dad right over on her side of the bed. Grr.
Its already warm and sunny here but haven't been out. I'm allowing myself the leisure of getting up whenever I feel like it. What're Saturday's for anyway!
Have been sparing a bit of thought to various things now that it's October. Susan died on 19th and our wedding anniversary is 20th, so it's hard to sort out. Not being morbid - it's been 6 years now, but it's hard to plan anything special. Also, there aren't any special restaurants in town and besides we like our own cooking efforts. And, with feeling crook for so long, can't be bothered planning anything. We can't really think about going away for a few days or similar, because of HRH. So, we'll probably just reminisce about the past 43 years (plus the 14 months before that) and have a nice day.
