I was watching bats while walking the dog this evening.  They're so tiny and cute!

    Evening all!  image

Just popping in quickly to suggest a use for your old duvet, if you don't think it would sell at a charity shop.  An animal shelter might be glad of it - they sometimes need cosy bedding for injured or convalescent dogs and cats.  image

Back from a great day out at Harlow Carr - will post photos tomorrow!

    Night all...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Clarington, thanks for your reassurance about FODMAP.  I must admit that when I had a quick look, I wilted a bit. My SIL and her hubby live in Queensland and I hadn't known that he had been suffering for several months (ever since a gatro bug got him in South east Asia). It just goes to show that we should talk more often so that we all can learn.  I think I'm slowly on the mend but very tired, I suppose because I've lost so much weight and nervous of doing too much and setting things off again.

Hello to everyone . It's 7am here and I'm laying on bed trying to balance the iPad. It's so nice to be able to wake up and read everyone's cheerful banter. image

What is that reference to Last Years Soil for Lilyp?  I'm very curious. And whatever happened to the hole in her driveway? I might have missed something interesting!image

i must admit that I was rather intrigued about the name Spike. Verdun's dog sounds lovely and I can relate to him using both versions, but was at a loss until I woke up that you were talking about a hedgehog. Such an approriate name for one.

We had a wombat arrive last summer who used to trundle around the place at will, but became unpopular when he got busy digging around the foundations of our various remnant goat shelters.  I named him Doug the digger.  I think he was suffering from mange which is a problem for them around here. Because he wandered around in daylight and didn't seem to worry about us being close, I think he was also nearly blind. Haven't seen him for months.

Hello Panda. I don't change my duvet either. Perhaps I should think about doing so.  I do wash the covers and hang the duvet on the line. (We call them doonas here but I assume we are speaking about the same thing).  I always finish my towels off in the tumble dryer to make them soft and fluffy. image

Ha. First time I was asked if I wanted a doona, I gave the aussie bloke a funny look. As for the bar sign that said "no thongs allowed", whats it got to do with a bar as to what undies I've got on.imageimageimage

Fidget - that got an out-loud laugh! We often come across the "thongs" thing on TV. It took me ages to work out that people wear those a....se splitting things. Thongs (footwear) here have been popular since I was a teenager. I'm more into Scholls type sandals nowadays. I remember limping around at the beginning of summer each year with blisters between my big toe and the next until the skin had become accustomed to the new thongs.  They ARE slippery on wet bar floors, though.image
