Thanks for good wishes everyone. I've just realised that he didn't give me the urine sample jar to take home, so I've got to drive the 25km to town, collect the jar, bring it back home and have a shower (as instructed), do the business, and then take it back to town to pathology, then drive back home again. I think that'll about do it for me tomorrow. The weather had better be good! I've toyed with the idea of boiling up a herb/spice bottle, but suspect the pathology mob won't be impressed. Darn!
I would have thought that would be OK too Pat... you'd need to sterilise the lid as well, of course.
Lovely day here in West Yorks. Early mist cleared to blue skies and warmish sun, lighting up the beech trees which are already turning gold. I hope the sun spreads south in time for your hols, Dove! (Though I do plan to keep a bit of fine weather back up here for Friday, when I'm off to the Harrogate flower show - hurray!)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
You've both convinced me. I've got the bottle (and lid) ready to boil up in the morning. If they don't like it, I can always come home and do it all over again. One of the disadvantages of living out of town, but the pluses outweighs the negatives.
I'll third that Pat - should be fine. You could always phone the surgery to say what you'll be doing. They'll let you know one way or the other.
I've had three dogs Steve and never succeeded in getting much of a sample from any whichever way I tried. Pat I really hope your hubby doesn't chase after you with a ladle. Tell him you're not up to it at the moment. Seriously though I hope you start to feel better soon x
Rb I had no success with present shopping today. I've seen what she wouldn't like so a return visit is called for with a fresh mind. I think M&S is the way to go and there's no problem with exchanges.
OH has gone to the tip so I'd better get out there and start a new car full. SYL
Lesley - what a brilliant idea. I'll ring them-they open at 8, so it'll give me time to get organised, I'm heading to bed now 11.30. Enough excitement for an old girl in one day.
Steve and Lesley, i am sure you are both too young to remember the fad of serving corn on the cob as a starter in the 70's but the dishes are fab for collecting doggie piddle!
Magnificent autumn day, have so enjoyed pottering about. I think the modern term for it is "mindfulness" just looking, listening and smelling and appreciating that life is good!

Good luck Pat, be happy that you don't have to do what most of my clients do and use a ladle to collect said sample!
Very graphic image, that, Steve! Thanks very much!
Pat, no reason why you don't sterilise a jar and use that , just as if you were jam making!!
Surgery can transfer contents!
