I hope they cut themselves badly on the broken glass.
His lordship has put the heating on. I protested that it wasn't October yet (not very loudly mind). At least we know it works for when the real weather hits.
Tomorrow I'm starting phase two of the education police riot van: a trip to Fords for the initial repairs. Do wave if you see me in Sheffield!
I find it hard to understand what goes through people's minds - just damaging things for the heck of it! Sorry to hear about the allotment GWRS. Are the gardens a distance from people's homes? Doesn't someone hear these things? It sounds like bored teenagers, but what do I know.
Gertie. Yes about our PM. Personally, I'm glad he's out of the chair, but it will be interesting to see what happens with the new bloke. I seem to remember that there was a time that the new one was against us having the royals in our system, although nothing has been said so far about that. I've even asleep since the vote announcement Last night. No doubt the TV will be full of it for days. Tempting to not watch for a couple of days, but it won't happen. Curiosity will take over and we'll want to know who he is taking with him. I'm fairly sure the deputy will remain in the seat, she's been rather good at the job.
I find it interesting that we seem almost exact opposites seasonally. We have let the fire die down the last couple of nights and you all are turning your heaters on. I'm propagating veg seeds and you are hunkering your gardens down. And last night they were rabbiting on about what a bad bushfire season we are expecting and how we all need to have evacuation plans. Seeing footage of the Califorian fires doesn't help to calm me down. Not my favourite time of year, what with hubby being so active on the volunteer bush fighting crew and me needing to face the possibility of needing to get out and to safety somewhere. I don't fancy starting again: it was bad enough after the cyclone having to start again. Instead of talking about what might never happen though, it would be better to think positively and get on with things that need to be done. Just ignore me. I'm smiling
Wet and windy weather on Wednesday, clearing overnight to leave sunny spells and blustery showers on Thursday. Sunny periods on Friday, with lighter winds and a few isolated showers.
Well the media frenzy has got under way. They haven't had much to rave about for a while, so now that the liberal party has made some major changes, it on for young and old. I can see that the news is going to frenzied with speculation for the next couple of days. Might dig out some old DVDs to get past the spell of insanity.
sunny today but very high winds from the north west (as predicted). I've been out to make sure the hort fleece is weighed down wherever possible although I'd be surprised if the cabbage whites could steer a straight course in this wind. What do they do in high wind? Do they hunker down behind something? My first large daffodils have opened this morning, but I can't take a photo when they are being blown every which way.
I have weakened and booked an appointment with a Doctor for this discomfort around the liver that I've been suffering from ever since that gastric bug got me. My favourite Doctor is on holiday, so I will be seeing someone else who I haven't seen before, but he'll have access to my records, so that's the best I can do for now. Appt is for late tomorrow, so fingers crossed that it has settled down a bit. I'm fed up with it!
Morning all. Not keen on these dark mornings ....roll on March. I have raspberries still out there to pick, but I'm not going out there with a torch, so raisins in my porridge will have to do
Pat - feel your pain on the frenzied media speculation....we are enduring similar. Hope the doc sorts you out.
