forgive me. but for me Religion is , at best, superstitious claptrap, at worst the most divisive state endorsed / enforced dogma , usually controlled by men, and subjugating women .
Oh dear, I am a practising Christian. Christians are supposed to care for people no matter their colour or creed or whatever. We are all human with feelings whether heterosexual or homosexual and I find discrimination such as Hosta and his OH have met to be repugnant. My OH's nephew was gay and his partner was welcomed into their family and helped financially by the family when the lovely nephew died from cancer. Christianity is supposed to be a loving and caring religion, but, unfortunately, people don't or can't, always behave in a caring way. I hope I am not narrow minded.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Religion is manmade...generally written after the event and edited to tastes of the time. The most divisive of issues throughout time, caused more wars, death, suffering and arguments than any other subject. It keeps people apart with intolerance of others and God probably shakes his head in disbelieve at what humanity did with the simple notion of loving one another and doing unto others as you would have done to you.
I believe in a force greater than ourselves, call it what you will, I'm thankful!
Brilliant news Panda - so pleased for you ((hugs))
Hosta ((hugs)) for both of you - just tell OH they don't deserve him - we're looking forward to meeting you both ((more hugs))
Jo ((hugs for you too))
Well, rather odd evening - got in the car, drove out of the drive, loud clattering clunk from somewhere driver's side front of the car, followed by a sort of a boing noise. Drove back into driveway. Sounds like suspension to me
Friend came to pick us up and we went for drinks and a meal and got a taxi back - windscreen man is coming on Monday morning to fix new windscreen. I will then phone Green Flag Oh 'eck!
Only good thing was that as I wasn't driving I was able to have a drink ....... or three
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Christianity is not supposed to be like that, it should encourage tolerance and loving others.
