Verdun, looks like Cornwall may be in for a good summer if the cetaceans are arriving this early!  I suppose the sea didn't cool down too much over the winter.

Kef, does house insurance cover his ring? when I lost a diamond I ended up with a new ring. Sentiment had to go out if the window though.

I did think of piling SIL's stuff all the way down her living room, but it will fill it. Still its a thoughtimage

Pdoc!  DON'T FALL OFF THE LADDER!!! image

As for clearing parents' houses - we cleared my parents' house when they went into residential care - siblings' contributions aren't always helpful image  My son and son in law were complete stars!   Family heirlooms were distributed as per their Wills - some stuff went to auction, some to charities, some to tip.  Boxes and boxes of 'precious belongings that they have no room or need  for where they are, and important paperwork' reside in our garage!!!  Can't get rid of it - it's still theirs - can't do anything with it - it's just taking up space and I can't get to anything of mine in there  image  When one of them goes we'll have to access some of it quite quickly - it'll be chaos!

Many years ago I'd lost weight and was gardening - threw a pile of prunings onto the heap - ring flew off and went with them !!!  I stood stock still and stared and stared - there it was, hanging on a twig!!!   I think it's amazing more rings aren't lost and found in gardens.
