BL Diss is great - I used to do my last minute pre-Christmas shop there on the 23rd Dec most years - it always does it's best to be festive. Also a very good auction house there - Gaze's - antiques, fine art, architectural salvage and all sorts. Very good bacon and sausage sandwiches and a fine day's entertainment.
Afternoon all! You sound very busy and chatty, read back not retained what happened to who tho
BusyL, Diss is lovely, I used to cycle there as a teen. My cousins hubby is mayor of the town
In the marmite yes camp here....and Monty too!
On the oxo topic, my grandad on papa womble side, used to crumble bread in a pudding bowel, crumble oxo on top and add warm milk and a knob of butter! That was a new one to me!
Had a kitchen accident last night making toad in the hole, oven rack got stuck and when yanked tin of scolding oil went all up my arms! . was in shock a bit and now look like a cross between bubble wrap and a leopard!
Didn't finish making toad in the hole.....burger instead
All this talk of Marmite made me find the jar at the back of the cupboard... I had buttered toast with Marmite and lettuce for lunch, mmmm! Not really taken with Vegemite though.
Do you think we're pre-programmed to like or dislike certain foods? Grandchild no.1 hates anything spicey, and won't touch Marmite, marmalade, chutney etc. Grandchild no.2, fed the same way, loves all these things and turns up her nose at anything bland.
Just time to pot on my Astrantia seedlings before tea... if I get a move on...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Oh Wonky, I just read back an feel so sorry for you. Burns are soooo painful. I know you are sensible and have your Mum's advice so won't offer anything different. Look after yourself, or even better, get someone to look after you. xx

Well, we've heard your OH makes a mean bacon buttie
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
He fries the bacon in chilli oil and spreads the toast with home made spicy tomato chutney.
That sounds infinitely preferable to the breakfast on offer in the Little Chef - we're definitely coming
