Thanks Punkdoc. I find it surprising, that's all. I've been seeing Monty on TV for years all over the world and I can't think whats not to like. Anyway, each to his own, I say.
I've been a qualified horticulturist for years and I still get good tips that I haven't thought of from him! Never mind.
Morning/evening Pat - like all presenters there are some likers and some haters! I like him too. What I don't care for these days is the 'over the top' presenting style present in many genres. Too much over emphasis and theatrical pauses.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I took some croissants and Danish pastries out of the freezer last night to bake for brekkie this morning - they're nicely risen but I won't put them in the oven just yet 'cos OH is still sound asleep. You'll just have to make do with coffee for now ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Yes Fairygirl, I agree with that sentiment. Some of them (particularly the U.S.) are noisy and over the top. What I find most irritating nowadays, since one of my ears doesn't work anymore, is that if there is background music, I can't hear what's being said. I inevitably have the subtitles on and try to ignore the noise.
After a foggy start today, it's been a lovely winter's day. I even dragged the hoses out and watered for the first time in months. We've had no rain to speak of for weeks. Did a bit of potting up and tidied the GH.
Rowans have been covered in berries for a few weeks round here. Autumn arrives in early August anyway for us, but July was hideously cold and wet so it was even earlier. The joys of living and gardening in Scotland
I'm thinking of removing the tomatoes today. It's not even warm enough during the day never mind at night, so they'll never ripen. Ah well - there's always next year

Morning Fairy - didn't see you there
morning Pat
Help yourselves to coffee - croissants and pastries will be later when OH wakes up.
I've been picking blackberries for about 10 days now - the hedgerows are heavy with them and they're ripening nicely

Morning Dove
Good morning all, sunny but only 9C here
it does feel Autumnal
David the photo made me laugh.
I won't comment about Monty
but do wonder if he takes milk in his tea
I think it's just easier to say morning "everyone" since you're all starting your day.
I'm advised by the keeper of records that we reached 1.7c this morning - nice change from all the minuses .

Morning all.
After a "couple of glasses" of wine on the terrace, a wee siesta was called for.
Went to bed at 5, woke at 9, went and shut up the tunnel and went back to bed.
Woke up at 7.
Not only did we miss dinner last night, but I've just realised we'd had no lunch either.
Been out to feed the birds and there's more hedgehog poo.
I've modified the squirrel trap to stop the door closing and I'll put the food inside , away from the cat we saw on Friday evening.
