Not being cruel to them Hosta - there's three straggly plants left over still in the modules in a corner of the garden where such things get put and then overlooked - they're welcome to them if they like

Had a houseful (11 including a teething baby) since Wednesday, lovely, lovely people but hectic, still have 8 days to go. Today it's raining though so have brought Charlie & a friend to an indoor soft play place. Normally I hate them but have sat for two hours and read back on all your news and the time has flown by.
Must try & get back in the garden properly this week, has been too hot and now too wet, I am worried it will be looking like a jungle again.
Am tempted to pay a man to come & cut the hedges, OH keeps promising but keeps getting distracted with work and somehow seems to take forever to cut about a foot, I just can't reach and am probably being unkind but I am sure if he just got on with it could be done in an afternoon.
Anyway, time to round up the troops and get home to cook dinner, just for 3 tonight, guests are going out for a Chinese. Tomorrow they are eating out too because is the son's birthday so another bit of a breather. Phew, I need it.
Best wishes to all, I hope to get a few more opportunites to keep up.

Hello Dd, good to see you Get a man in to do the hedges, saves falling out with the OH 'cos of nagging, and anyway, it's what he goes out to work for, isn't it?
Loathe soft play places with a passion - they weren't about when Wonky was small, and I first came across them when working for Children's Services - a good place to get to know parents and observe their parenting - but I hate the places - all that noise and no fresh air

You are so right Dove, awful, did read back my post and hoped wasn't misunderstood about hating Charlie & his pal.
Can't understand why they can't make them more welcoming and parent friendly, comfy chairs would be a start as well as a window! The food is always awful too, never any cake, they could even put a little GC at the back to keep us occupied;)
Think I will suggest to OH that a man to cut the hedges would be a good idea as 'he works so hard he deserves it' it surely can't cost that much for a few hours of trimming.

Shall we send a magic carpet for Topbird - do you think she's ready to rub her magic knickers yet?

Hahaha Runny! You are funny!
I wonder if Topbird clicks the knickers together three times and says...there's no place like home!

Just checked the temp - it's falling now but it got to 30.7C in the shade a little while ago - no wonder I'm dripping ...
