Evening my crazy gardening buddies Another good day at work today! And it looks like you've all had a good day too . . . well maybe OL's memory hasn't
I'm on for whatever KEF is organising And a trip to the cabin would be a lovely idea, maybe this weekend? I don't have Guides this Friday so could make it from early doors
Am going on an online hunt for organic slug pellets shortly. I'm getting fed up of them eating all my plants! As no near by gardens seem to have any plants in them, just grass, so they all come and munch mine Well, them and the snails!!
Hope nothing wrong with mum Verd and it's just a precaution.
Cleared up here so got the grass cut and a few other small jobs done. The little birds were singing away. Can't beat the smell of newly cut grass - just lovely
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just been for GH patrol and mice have invaded my cold frame, and nipped 2 clematis at the base of their stems. Hoping they will have enough of a rootball to resprout. Really cross
But only 2 more workdays and then i'm on holiday - so that puts a back on.
Panda "organic" pellets I don't think there are such things, some are less toxic than others and some supposed to be wildlife friendly but ok until rains then they've gone & that's when beasties appear. Maybe try putting pricky off cuts around your plants, or horticultural grit if they are attacking certain ones, like my "best" tulips I do put blue pellets down, if my veg is eaten, only a few and I hide under the plant leaves and remove debris early in morning. A world without slugs / snails would be ace.
Kef isn't organising any beer festival but will come to cabin if a party is planned.
Pdoc thanks for info' will visit Bot Gdns then, as I haven't ever seen one, only pics.
I'm happy bunny just had 6oz medium rare sirloin steak, cut into Scooby snacks and taken 25mins to nibble, cold by the time I'd done, but hey! proper food. Mouth not up to Rump or Ribeye ( more tasty but more chewy) but soon... very very soon...
Good not to rush things with your Mum - slow but sure is always good.
Bit of a grim day here - I heard earlier that a dear and special friend will soon be transferring to a hospice for end of life care. One of those people you meet as adults and you both feel that you were twins parted at birth - I've known she was ill, and knew the likelihood of this, but it doesn't lessen the feeling ................. and of course, our thoughts are with her adored husband too.
