Good morning all It's a lovely morning and the birds are singing - hopefully OH will be making me a second coffee any minute
Hosta, I hope the day goes well for you.
Pdoc - I'll be voting this morning and will watch the first results come in - I may then retire to bed with the radio on for the rest of the night - or I may sit up and watch with you - after all, this is the first General Election where I've not had to go to work on results day!
I've always been quite politically aware, ever since my school had a Mock Election when I was about 14. When they eventually get around to asking me to go on Desert Island Discs, one of my choices will be a recording of Bishop Desmond Tutu being interviewed immediately after having cast his vote for the first time - his whoops of joy and sheer elation should be an admonishment to those who do not bother to take advantage of the universal suffrage we have and that has been fought for so long and hard by so many people, and which many, particularly women, are still denied in some places.
I'll get off my soapbox now
The rest of today will be a gardening day
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Beautiful sunny morning and the wind seems to have died down......thank goodness. We were quite worried about the oak tree in the garden. It really was whipping about
Perhaps Fairy waved her wand and stopped the wind.
Washing to do, but at least it can go out today.
Beaus will have to look your rose up. Hope you get all your gardening jobs done today
RB, hope your eye feels much better today, not too much ogling
