Heavy rain heading north KEF! Start building an ark our car park has flooded already! Alas no lightening or thunder which I am finding most terribly disappointing. I do love a thunder storm and it would make up for the fact that I definitely wont be digging the plot tonight - it'll be far too wet I'll end up with most of the mud on my socks.
Guess that means I'll have to crack on with the ironing instead. Curses!
Just heard the forecast that after heavy rain tonight then the weather should improve- that's nice but I've just been so impatient that I popped out to plant up 20 little viola Asda had. I'm now soaking but happy.
I bought some Sweet peas this morning. The ones I planted in the autumn were doing really well but then I let them dry out . The only thing that concerns me is that the pot they are in is really small so they haven't been able to grow nice long roots- still I'll give them a go.
Still not caught up on here but I suppose I can just take it from here.
Work is good thanks Chicky- in fact I was alowed a couple of days off to go and visit my daughter when she had her baby. My first granddaughter is called Poppy which I think is a fab name.
We just had the heavy rain, now its just raining. It knocked so much blossom off the plum and cherry trees it looked like it was snowing. I'd better go and rescue the kale plants from drowning. They were supposed to harden off, not learn to swim.
Been bad here, the pond has just overflowed, not unusual, but makes planting in nearby beds tricky for a while. I can block off the entrance to the pond, but was caught out by severity of todays rain.
I have had to empty out some trays of pots outside greenhouse, as they had filled with water.
Got some nice Aspargus to cook with Salmon and Jersey potatos for tea.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Clarington, try bread made with spelt, this is an ancient grain which predates wheat and which does not cause bloat, Tescos do Spelt and Pumpkin seed loaf, I now eat it on a daily basis and haven't had a problem since.
Short post (on a train again) but had to shout WELCOME BACK POTTY . We've missed you ! Don't worry about catching up, just throw yourself straight back in. So glad you are enjoying work (it was Fairy asking before, not me). Hope you are gearing yourself up for the defence of your "best garden" crown . - you need to retain it for your new granddaughter - although i'm sure she'll grow up thinking you are the best anyway. Will there be poppies in your pots this year to celebrate ?

I agree Clari, little things mean a lot.
Even a card in the post cheers you up. You can also get those 'credit card' quotes to keep in your purse.
