Morning fellow Forkers, Sun breaking through here, it did rain last night but nothing to shout home about, looks like it was onlyh a very light showerCould really do with a nice stready downpour.
I have three baby Lysimachia B. grown from seed, don't expect arching stems of burgundy flowers for quite a while yet.
The Prunus Amanogawa planted in Feb is a mass of flowers and the Epimedium Rubra has finally made a feeble show (thought I had lost this one so very pleased it is making a valiant effort).
No gardening planned for me today as I have to make my grandaughter a birthday cake (with four days notice which included the two days away in Harrogate). She doesn't like chocolate cake and doesn't like jam so it's difficult to buy one ready made. Lord knows how it will turn out as I'm just going to have to raid the cupboards and see what I have.
Enjoy your day everyone and Hosta don't muck up your EFTPOS.
How awful MrsG. What a nasty thing to happen, and so close to home. Hope they decide to stay away now they know the police have been round. Hope litte'un is ok too - ((hugs))
Oh MrsG, how awful for you all and outside your own house. Hope OH is ok, must be very shaken up though. Hope LO is ok too. Very best wishes and hugs xx
As Chicky said, hope they now stay away. Take care xx
thanks chicky and SGL, just asked garden neighbour if he saw anything, heard lots but nothing useful. Worried about son, sheild him from violence (perhaps too much), I'm sure he's having trouble making any sense of it all, has made dad a get well card and keeps asking about the wall, this in itself tells me how much it's on his mind but he has trouble communicating it. Horrid horrid times, and 'stuff' at work returning so stress levels are being tested. At least it's sunny with clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight.
Just had a look at 'crocus' combinations. Like kniphofia avaria with helenium ruby Tuesday and moorheim beauty and achillea terracotta, not sure how many of each would be needed, will go and measure so someone may advise....
Mrs G - a horrid thing to have happened - I know a little of what you're feeling 'cos a similar thing happened to my son last year - he was jumped from behind and kicked unconscious after having told a lad off for racially abusing a shopkeeper and messing about with his car - eventually the lad was sent to the Young Offenders for a few months (second time!). He's out now but if he puts a foot wrong again he'll go in the big boys' prison 'cos he's 18 now. Hopefully that will be a deterrent!
I understand how difficult it is for your son to understand (concrete thinking etc) - he must want wrong doing to be punished. Am I right in remembering he's on the autistic spectrum? Maybe the Autistic Society can provide some counselling or at least some tips on how you can help him put the episode to bed. Good luck ((hugs))
My lovely OH has announced that he's coming with me to visit Ma - I wasn't going to ask him but he's picked up that it's the first 'proper' visit since Pa died - he's such a great support
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
1m wide and can go easily 2m along path before getting in the way of the slide, the tree is a golden ash, all the broken flagstones can go, maybe still need some sort of path for the trampoline and slide (seems they must stay a little while longer )
so, planting plan for the plants listed in my last post ?????? thank you x
Dove, sorry I missed your post earlier. Thank you.
thanks also Panda
Alls ok now I've got it off my chest, thanks for kind comments.
However, the weekend just gets better - just learnt my sister has got married - found out via Facebook! Thought we had a good enough relationship to know she even had a serious fella, oh well...congrats to her, not worth getting shirty about, she always was a bit strange!

Sorry about your news Mrs G. Hope there are no repercussions and that Mr G is OK.
