Thank you all for kind words for Shadow, have managed a tablespoon of puppy food, which had his tablet in thankfully. He has gone back to sleep again now.
Vet said not tick related Lizzie, hasn't get a temperature high enough he said. Think you are right Liri about stuff put down, we walk 3 times a day usually through woods and fields, difficult to watch him every moment and the farmers have been very busy in the fields lately, but then again I suppose it could be anything, he always has his nose to the ground sniffing stuff out.
Hoping to get some planting done in the veg patch later and off to a plant sale tomorrow to have a look at some ideas for 'soon to be rockery'.
Good day to you all.

Don't know about in France - but in the UK it's totally illegal to put out poisoned bait for raptors - or for any other wildlife for that matter - if anyone's aware of it happening in the UK it should be reported to the police asap.
We once had a kitten who had used an area of sand as a 'loo' - the sand had been put over some spilled paint by a delivery driver who'd dropped a can of paint which contained a high level of toxins (it was for painting heating oil tanks). The kitten got paint on her paws and tried to lick it off and swallowed some paint - fortunately I spotted her a few hours later in a poorly state, staggering and glazed eyes - I spotted the sand on her paws and found the paint on the roadway - we rushed her to the vet while I contacted the builder's merchants (I'd seen the lorry) and told them there was a case of poisoning - they told us the brand of paint, the vet got in touch with the manufacturer who told him the ingredients. Some very expensive treatment later our pusscat (Spangles) came home well on the road to recovery - the builder's merchants paid the vet's bill. Spangles lived to around 19 years of age
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Just had a phone call from Wonky Womble - she's had an increase in her working hours so hasn't been on the forum this week - but she has taken some 'before' photos of her garden which she'll post when she gets a round tuit
