Just for that Verd - I'm sending you the endless rain we've had here  most of the week...image

It's actually gone off now. I've been to the dreaded supermarche and a couple of things fell in the trolley. Well, it would have been wrong to leave them there to dry up and shrivel away...image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

We've been outside all morning - OH has been a saint and turfed around the pond and it looks fantastic and it'll look even better when the turf beds in and the edges soften.  I need to get more marginals now.

We've also been for a walk across the marshes and done some dipping for mini-beasts in the ditches.  We didn't think we'd got a lot, but when we got home we tipped out containers out into a white plastic box and found we'd got lots of daphne, springtails and a caddis fly larva image  They've gone to join our lesser diving beetle and pond skater.

Here's the pond and the beginning of the Little Wilderness as it looks today

The Little Wilderness is going to spread around and in front of the bench and the trellis to the side.  There's lots more plants to go in yet - and I want another big rock to go near the little sisyrinchium.

Oh dear, one of those pics was taken before the turf was laid - this is a more recent one of the Little Wilderness end.

Yes Verdun, it would be gorgeous - would it be fully hardy up here do you think?

Verdun, if you look closely at the pic with the bench, you'll see next to it three canes - that's where the Clematis montana grandiflora that you didn't need was planted yesterday image

Oh Dove it's lovely. Love the 'beach'  and all your plants around the edge. Will be so relaxing on days in the garden, sitting on your bench.

    I've got pond envy now.
