Good to see you OLimage.  I once grew carrots in a tall tub - too high for carrot flies - and  ended up with enough to put in a casserole for eight.  Now If I could find more cheap rubs like thatimage.

It's been a dry, sunny day here but cooler the further North you get.  Funny thatimage

Lovely here. Felt really warm when I was weeding without a coat on.

Have managed weeding 2 white beds - now removed all the yellow daffs I was sold as Thalia.image

Which clematis are they Verdun?  I've got room for a few more if you really don't have the room image

Isn't life complicated at the moment?  I was listening to the news while doing some noisy washing up and could have sworn they were talking about ISIS - but it seemed very odd and more than usually worrying - until I worked out later that they were talking about ISAS image

    Well done Mattyimage

I thought I was one of the only people who doesn't care for clematis growing through shrubs.

Been busy, lunch for tomorrow prepared, tables set, dining room hoovered and dusted (but OH did that). Vase of flowers picked and arranged for church tomorrow. Also got out into GH and pricked out loads of lobelia, more petunias, double pink cosmos and ageratum "Blue Mink".

Well I'm really shattered now.  Will have to rethink the placement of the clematis.  Am determined to sort it out so that awful extension looks better.

Have emptied the half barrel pond on the patio.  Gave it a good clean and refilled.  One of the plants is ok (needs dividing) but will need to get aquatic soil and a couple of other plants.  Would love a hardy lilly but there is a water pump that pours water into the pond and I don't think a lilly would like getting splashed.

evening all. Home from work at 2.30. Couple came to collect their greenhouse glass then had a beer with OH before he went to bed prior to night shift ( only until Midnight) then cut back some penstemon and used the cut material for some tip cuttings. Who knows, they might root.

Forecast looks good for next few days so lots of plans to keep me out of mischief.

    Devon.
  • Hello everyone, I didn't get the veg patch done today as I forgot we couldn't do food shopping tomorrow so had to go and do it today.   But the weather forecast is good tomorrow, I'm fact all week so I a, going to crack on tomorrow.

Carrots are the one thing I've grown for a few years and seem to do ok with, they are never very big by (touch wood) I've never had a problem with carrot fly.

Off to walk the hounds now and then going to a neighbours 70th image
