I've been doing it since 2010 although the garden was begun in earnest the year before and begun from a blank canvas in about 1996
I find the depths of winter a real struggle. Having Flynn this year taught me not to pack up the end of the year quite so early, there is still life in my southernly garden throughout Decemeber and thus theoretically, I only have to deal with the tail end of winter, about 6-8wks here, (February seeming shorter because it ends at 28th most years) A lot of time is spent flicking through my photo albums to cheer me up. (and make plans)
March is the light at the end of the tunnel for me.
Acer got planted after spending the previous year in a pot while I decided where it should go. Then I wanted another plant to go in its place, so I swapped them. Then I changed my mind on the swapped plant that got moved to new site and now the Acer is back where I planted it. Oops
Parcel arrived with new plants. Three Corydalis Sapphire, a Dicentra Alba and a Sanguinaria Canadensis Plena. All going in the new bed with the Lilac Madame Lemoine and Hydrangea Limelight.
recording " banished" so OH can watch it when he's not on nights. Prog about a railway between India and Nepal will see me to bedtime. Unless someone wonderful is on Question Time
Your garden is so pretty now YvieStevie. What a difference you've made.
Lovely lunch out chez friends, poached pears with grilled goat cheese and walnuts, fillet mignon of pork wrapped in parma ham with Dauphinoise potatoes and green beans, then cheese, then a cakey sort of pud that involved chocolate and fruit. Coffee finally served after 5pm.
Just realised that I've got to write an article for a newsletter, so must stop looking on here and go and do it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
