Oh no.  Chris Beardshaw looks boring, not my cup of tea at all.  Now Timothy Olyphant......... If I was only 10 years youngerimage.

Been gardening all morning and enjoying the sunshine.  Have a day all to myself today, no visiting, shopping, no nanna duties and definitely no H*******k.

A good day for remembering Verdun.  I'm sure your rose will be lovely.  My friend has bought one for her grandaughter who is called Olivia Rose.

Will be perusing plant porn later.  I have to remove my Escallonia as it has Leaf Spot.  I'll need something to replace it.  It needs to be evergreen, not mind light shade and grow well against a fence.  I dont want it to be too bushy either. Oh and its North West facing in good soil that stays relatively moist but drains well.  Any Ideas anyone.

Just noticed another Yvie on the site, hope she's as nice as meimage.  The escallonia is done for (so am I).  Haven't dug the root up, that's for another day.

GB you're as bad as me, the rest of the family have designated the remaining lawn as a SSSI and forbade me to touch it.

Off to check out what might replace my escallonia.image

Thanks for good wishes Lesley.  Can't wait!  image

Verdun, some of us like shorter men...  image  Though maybe 4ft is a bit short, even for me...  image

I'm with you, Yvie and GB, on the value of enlarging borders at the expense of lawn.  You only need a small area of grass for the grandchildren/dog - the rest is just a waste of valuable gardening space.  image  Now where's my spade??

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Well maybe ..one or two tastefully chaps spring to mind but if they presented gardening programmes I wouldn't see any plants.

Thank goodness I'm 29 and all such thoughts of lust have been replaced with wanting a mug of tea and new slippers!
