Dove, i think i must have your liking for hot weather, ive never experienced it beong too hot, love it, love it, love it. . But im sure you are right the nice weather to come will probably do the trick
Nice to hear from you Matty, hope ypu are continuing to improve
Wintersong, you truly deserve the most beautiful garden will all that work you have and still are putting in!
Glad Den was gentle with you Verd, you will have to treat yourself to a doughnut when the medicine has worn off
Fritt, sorry to hear the grand kids are poorly, hope it passes soon but enjoy the garden time
Yvie, that swing thing sounds good, believe it or not, ive never been to Cosford on purpose, just once by accident when we were trying to get to DA!
BL, im with you on hairdressing, i havent had mine cut for almost 2 years! Im starting to look like an old hippy!
LP hope you feel better and the siatica goes
Got 3 bags of compost, cell tray thingys, plant labels, radian b, and sleep aid as i had to get up twice in the night for painkillers...spring must be on its way! And of course my lovely petshop man delivered it all for me
Have walked george then popped round and took grandads dog out for an hour and half, will see if i can summon the strength to sow some chillies
Forgot to say, also picked up some olive oil cream for my hands as my knuckles were cracked and bleeding again, only used it once, but so far, so good, very pleased and it was only 99p!
Matty, it's only recently I've had this virus, before that I was as fit as a fiddle and the GP was so pleased with me that I skipped out of the back door and fell over and broke my wrist - remember? I normally never get bugs.
It must be spring - I can hear a lawnmower
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thanks Bekkie. They are better now, that's why we allowed our son back to work, they all went down with it together. Their Mum has them today, she works partime so she has finished now for the rest of the week.I know it was cruel making them stay away, but we really didn't want to catch it.
Dove i think its just a rotten year for it, my mom is NEVER ill, but has been very ill with a virus just like you, hopefully all the antibodies etc you will make from this will mean you are immune in the future
Well done bekkie, great catch-up. Your cream sounds good and I should really get some, especially for my elbows - too much leaning.
Son was a very brave boy at the dentist and has had his tooth out. Only took a year to summon up the courage. Thanks for the sympathy regarding Mum's op. It could have been worse. If it hadn't been for the dental hospital I would have already been down there.
Chicky the seeds today were cosmos, Anchusa, calendula and nasturtiums. My windowsills are filling up nicely.
Dove, that reminds me of the story of my mother-in-law's funeral, when I hopped out the back door and sprained my ankle. Purple-blue-black bruises to prove it, a pair of crutches and the family-in-laws joking that she pushed me
Well...I've had a weird day really. Started off building one of two raised beds for hostas with OH doing the cutting and then showing me how to screw it all together.
At the same time that finished, I had to wait out the front for the delivery man and his lorry to show him where to go and a tree surgeon turned up in his van and started talking to me about various prunings.
Now...I had this happen once before, when a young man charged me too much to chop my Cherry tree down and left half the job unfinished, so I was on my guard, but this guy had the tools of the trade so I got him to prune my large Laurel (on my list) down to a size that will be much more manageable for me in future years. It only got so large with time and my lack of ability to saw thick bits off.
I have to say, he did a great job, but then he was after more work which I was shy about even though I do need it done but then we have a car to get rid of to replace with a new one and he was asking after it so OH did a deal for more work as the price of the car. He's coming back later to take the vehicle and tomorrow some registered people are coming with their truck to remove all the rubbish (wood, concrete, pallets) for less than half the price of a skip
So that's lots of jobs tackled, the car gone to a better home and the rubbish removed woot.
I'm too pooped to make more of the glorious day now but suffice to say, the garden job cost £65 and the truck costs £120, saving at least £130 on our estimates.
Thanks bekkie. Just let me know what it's called and I'll look out for it. E45 doesn't seem to do much good.
I was going to put the new plastic cover on the mini greenhouse but it is so windy that it would probably blow away. We could do with some of your lovely weather Winter. My you have been busy again
I'm waiting for a dazzling smile from the Crown Prince of Cornwall
