  • Morning Verdun image  that's going to look fabulous - I don't know hocus pocus but I've googled it - so pretty - shame it likes moist soil - it would look good in an area I'm going to start on soon, but it gets very dry in the summer - ash tree roots so close to the surface image

Good morning.  Bitterly cold here this morning after another very windy night. At least the tree is almost away and another two pruned, so I got some sleep and didn't worry too much.

too many poorly to mention which is a sad state of affairs but please take care and stay warm. It's still winter

verdun, I have never heard of hocus pocus either what colours?

    That's a beautiful combo Verdunimage

Out in the garden already (coffee break) It's clear and bright and not that chilly so I'm tackling several jobs today.

    • Aim to landscape the bottom rubbish area currently full of raised veg beds. (its where my greenhouse will eventually go)
    • clearing out a second raised bed we built last year but didn't plant up. It's been my collection area for concrete and rubble I periodically find in my garden. Going to be getting a skip for all of it in a week or two
    • also need to line the bed with protection stuff (probably a trip to the DIY store for some, I think I've run out)
    • then all my soil from the raised veg beds can go in it and its ready for planting. (have no idea what yet) its a sun trap
    • Also aiming to fit some more trellis to fences for climbing roses and lines of wire along north facing fence for training pyracantha

Well, if I manage all that, I'll be sore but chuffedimage

  • Morning all, best wishes to so many of the sick people (very sensible re. dentist Dove), BL you do sound to have it very  bad, hope the meds start taking effect v.soon. image

Finished tidying up garden from week-end's efforts, has been a bit wet but warm and so many plants are coming into bud, although need to get on top of weeding very soon, lots of little ones sprouting, speedwell etc.

Today though off to the zoo with Charlie & a pal, two week half term holiday here. OH not coming, "too busy", I am afraid we have had a few words about him working so many hours, seems so often just me and Charlie doing stuff together. Think working from home blurs the lines of working hours, also he really loves what he does and gets totally engrossed. Tried to explain Charlie won't be a child for long and soon enough spending time with us will be a no no. Not sure I got through though. image

Anyway, will be nice to see what a French zoo has to offer & weather not too bad. Catch up with you all later, have a good day (or restful one). image

Morning all. I've showered and dressed, so the antibiotics have started doing their stuff. Still had alternate sweating and shivering in the night though. When I saw the doc, he said (in French) "Oh dear, you are in a bad way, I've never seen you ill before". I usually only go for HRT which he wants me to take to prevent osteoporosis because of horse riding.

Morning all. Get well soon fellow sufferers. Docs' Surgery has just called to say she's referring me to the Orthopedic chappy . Fingers crossed it'll be soon.

Lovely sunny day so I'm aiming to sow some more seeds in polytunnel.
