Just time to read the thread while warming up with a cuppa.
Ground is wet and darn cold but my soil is sandy so its easily workable.
Right! Off I go again...think I've worm Flynn out already
(someone remind me why I'm not waiting until warmish spring to do my planting? When the days are sunny and the ground is warm?)I've never started so early before now, but then I do usually get a mad rush on come April...
Sunny but frosty here. When it's defrosted, I have 61 lily bulbs to plant. T&M sent 20Lilium longiflorum bulbs(scented) free to compensate for my disappointment over the bouquet(scented)lilies which turned out to be Joy series( unscented) lilies. I gave some of the joy series to mum, and I am going to plant the others in the veg patch for cutting. The rest are going in the ground, and in pots.
I planted a dozen polka raspberry canes at the weekend. Also I dug up last years cheapo gladioli corms that i had from lidl. I grew them between the rows of broad beans, and then cut them for the house. The corms are now the size of my palm.
That reminded me to get some broad bean seeds in. I have set 35 The Sutton in pots, I also have a packet of Aquadulce claudia. Should I set these now or is it too late and I would be better waiting until Autumn?
I will certainly grow gladioli between the broad bean rows again.
I sow Aquadulce broad beans in March, Fidget, so it's certainly not too late. I've stopped sowing them in autumn as they kept dying in the winter, or the deer got them (before OH put the high fence up). In fact, I think I'm going to sow some in pots in the GH today, while the weather is nice, and get an early start.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Morning all. Was +3° and not foggy this morning - 6° warmer than yesterday.
Sad about your cat Stacey. My dog has cancer, but he's started eating again. Don't know what will happen when he's off cortisone though.
More pruning today. The cutting is OK, it's the clearing up that is a chore.
One, two, three plants in the ground so far

It's beginning to feel like Spring.

Have a good holiday Stacey. After the last year, you deserve it.

Sunny and very cold here, but I am going out to continue tidying up the borders, ready for Spring.
May also plant some box, that I grew from cuttings. I call them my Box balls, but really they are Box blobs.
I have Snowdrops, Aconites and the first Crocuses flowering.
Sorry to hear about all the poorly pets.
Stacey, enjoy your well deserved holiday.
