Morning all - its a bit early to be dealing with alliteration - always preferred a good bit of onamatapoeia ( bang, crash, pop) - but haven't a clue how to spell it.
Stacey - my astrantias are all dying back for their winter rest too. As is most everything else at the moment.
Good morning Chicky I've always been quite good at spelling (primary school was very hot on it) but there's one word I always have to check - and you'd be surprised how may times I'm called on to type diahorrea in my line of work!!!
See you later - have a good day
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning dove, stacey, chicky and all you sleep heads.
I'm back at work today so of course it looks like the suns coming out!
Quite a bit done in the garden over the last week or two. Border redesign incorportating a new path to show off the Acer, well it is finally autumn ( oh - woody's still here isn't he?). GH up but a bit empty, and I thought id done loads of cuttings!
So a question...
Cuttings, Echinacea, have a lot of growth esp near the base. This growth is laying on the compost...do I snip them off, leave, repot or just add a grit layer to protect?
As I said yesterday, sorry not been here to help through all the recent rubbish. X
Great to have you back Mrs G - on your echinacea cuttings i would leave anything thats green, snip off anything brown or yellowing and add a layer of grit as top dressing. Then just leave them alone in your new GH . As the autumn goes on you might need to pull/snip out more yellowing growth - although some of my ech's kept some dark green growth at the base all last winter. Not all of them though - and they all survived the winter happily.
Morning all. As the scousers used to say on that Harry Enfield show - dey do do dat do don't dey?
Chicky - it's onomata....erh onamot...umm..onim...can't do that one
Onomatopoeia??
Pics of garden were lovely MrsG. You've been busy
Wanted some astrantias for shady white borders but nursery didn't have any white left by the time I thought of having some. Might not have room anyway!
Nice day here so I hope to get back outside later.
Work first though
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Better nights sleep last night. Not working today hope to get last few bits done weatherpermitting. Yes dove take care on monday looks very very windy everywhere, just shown the weather on the news.
Why do often have to write the word diahorrea? Are you adoctor or do you write lots of sick notes he he.
Chicky did you see my note to you, the clematis I bought the other day Is called flammula, the flowers are apparently scented.
Hope you all have a good day. This has taken me ages to do as the words keep mixing up!! Ps the sun is now shining
