Don't wear the green off them Wintersongimage.  Have you ordered seeds yet.?  I think it was KEF's Mum who transposed stir crazy into stir fry.  Very apt with talk of being hungry in this cold weather and then Lizzie goes to the Wok Placeimageimage.

Gg I'm glad you've seen some snow - we've seen enoughimage.  Sunglasses suit you Archieimage

Poddington it's a shame about the children being ill but it's a good chance for a catch upimage.

Lily I've been having a very quick wander round the garden too and have found three clumps of snowdropsimage.  Hope you've got your car back DD.  Note to self 'tidy cupboards and drawers'image

Verdun, well done for going through the mill. What a lovely story you uncovered thoughimage

  • Havent managed to get outside yet either, did an online shop ...yawn! Then went upstairs for something and ended up putting the laundry away then stripping and remaking the bed, might just have a little tidy outside image

iIve ordered some gladioli for cutting and some Eucomis  sparkling burgundy for pots.

Also, does anyone know the best way to germinate banana seeds.? I ordered three types in a fit of exoticism.

OH is on a diet, and I'm sort of going along with it. Currently he is having lots of veg and protein, and no wheat based products, so no pizza, pasta, cakes or biscuits.or beer.

Two days in and he's complaining he's hungry. There is plenty of squash soup in the fridge. He's got to do it. His annual medical says his blood sugar is slightly raised, so weight loss is the first move. He doesn't want more tablets.

My car is in for service, MOT and new spring. I'm expecting a big bill.image

There are diets and there are dietsimage.  Through many years of ups and downs I find that if you deny yourself of most of the things you enjoy you can't stick to it.  I have just bought (urrghhh for many) the Hairy Bikers Dieters cookbook and am really enjoying the meals, which are nutritionally sound, and the rest of the family enjoy them too.  Turkey burgers here tonightimage

Hope you don't have a huge bill fidgetimage

  • Winter munchies - oh yes!  image  Only ever eat doughnuts when it's cold.  (I mean I never eat them in the summer, not that my winter diet consists of nothing else...  image)

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • Doughnuts we had them at the potato day we take some with us as a tradition as they had them the first year we went but not the second year so since then we take them

    So yummy

    Done seed sowing today

  • Fidget, i grew some banana years back (musa banjoo i think) so they must be easy, would have just bunged em in and kept em warm image, hope your car isnt too bad and OH can stick to his diet

Lesley, i agree with you on diets, but if i hadnt stopped/ cut back on dairy they would have had to smash down the wall to get me out by now...no self control image. Hope your book is good, i like the hairy bikers image

Agree with the doughnuts Verdunimage glad your plants have come image

Finally got in the garden, found my compost bin has rotted (was an old laundry hamper!) So dug a new pit, put some chicken wire and canes up, and had a bit of a tidy, george came and "helped" me dig, then lay in the hole...some things never change! image

Want doughnuts now!!! Can i have doughnuts- i mean have they got dairy in? image
  • I want doughnuts!!!  But it's a Fast Day image
