Wintersong they'd better not do, I'm feeding about eight here, because I thought they were offspring of Stumpy our female blackbird who had no tail feathers just a raw bottom when she first visited about 6 yrs ago
... Dove I hope it was an Ainsley soup, only ones I like.
Same here - Ainsley's Hot & Sour = 66 kcals per mug
It's been blustery all day, but suddenly its getting really blustery and brilliant pink clouds are scudding across the sky - I've just heard from a friend up on the north Norfolk coast and it's looking stormy up there - I think we'd better batten our hatches down this evening.

Actually got some gardening done today, very mild. I only went out for a little look around and couple of hours later had done some weeding & trimming back bits & pieces, also had an achy back, obviously out of practice.
Found lot of bulbs peeping through & a few winter flowers. All looks very promising but we do have snow forecast for next week.
OH has said he has found a "good film" we can watch tonight, hope I don't fall asleep, still not on the wine so might stand a chance - maybe.

I've got a little Christmas Rose hellebore looking exactly like that by my front door Dd , and a Hellebore Tutu in bloom in the front as well, next to the Vib. Bodnantense which is absolutely plastered with flowers, and the Sweet Box - this is that bed's first winter and I'm really pleased

One of my brothers is a forester in Scotland, he always wear a kilt whatever the weather, says the socks and the kilt are warm wool. Ref. chat on previous page.
Mild afternoon so gardened, first time for ages. Planted "Crown Princess Margareta" climbing rose that I bought from David Austin back in June. Not as easy as it sounds as ground was full of rocks and had to dig a big hole and put some better soil and manure in it.
Then went to dig hole for "Teasing Georgia" climber but had to clear that bit of the bed first. Phlomis, Lamium and ivy had taken over, it was supposed to be irises. The irises were still there so dug them up, dug out unwanted stuff, dug in very well rotted manure, trimmed irises as Rachel de Thame did on GBGR and replanted them. Started digging hole for the rose, but was getting dark and had to feed the horses. That all took 3 hours.
Didn't know snow was forecast DD - rushes off to look at forecast.....
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Today I took a parcel in for a neighbour and the delivery man said he would put a card through my neighbours door asking them to collect the parcel from me. A teenage girl who lives at the address has just popped round to give me the card because it had been delivered to the wrong address. I kid you not, it took me a full 5 minutes to explain to the girl why the card had been pushed through her letterbox and she still looked as it she was stealing the package as she went out through the door. Is it me?
On 28th Dec, in M&S's "secret" sale, I ordered a pair of jeans and 2 bras. The jeans arrived about 3 days later, bras still haven't come. I've sent emails and spoken on the phone to them, they said delivery man couldn't find the house, but the first delivery man found the house.
DD has snow forecast for Sat. 24th, but I have rain. Limoges has snow for Friday 23rd as well.

Snow forecast here Wednesday, Thursdaynext week BL. You do work hard in your garden, I was feeling pleased with a couple of hours weeding - now I feel like a lightweight.

So nice to see flowers at this time of the years isn't it Dove. I have started a little diary/wishlist ready for next winter, really want to plan better next year.

Wintersong - would that be Lars and Ingrid Ssvartfugl by any chance? I know them well...
The lashing sleet and rain have calmed down a bit here but I don't think tomorrow's to be much good.
A kilt's a good investment if OH wears it regularly Dove.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I looked on Metéo France, the main weather site. Which one did you see snow on?
DD, you've worked harder than me recently because I haven't done anything much for ages.
