Hello all. So much sadness around - many people on the forum struggling with health issues and losing family members, and the news isn't any better. I'm just grateful that my daughter is meeting her friends in Glasgow today and not yesterday. Last night I thanked the God I don't believe in for the many blessings I have. So glad you're ok LPilly.
Perhaps gardening makes us optimists - we're always thinking about next week or next month or next year. Trying to learn from mistakes and stay positive. It's a good metaphor for life.
Lots of things I'd like to say but I'll simply wish everyone here a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year. Here's hoping 2015 will bring good news, happiness and better times for everyone
Much love to you all xxx
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairy good way to sum us up always looking forward and always hoping for better, can't do any more can we.
Clari think you ought to baggsy the bed tonight, think you deserve it!
BL hope the dog will consider pond a mere puddle and not bother with it - hope. We should try & arrange a lunch or something for January too.
Punkdoc, Happy Christmas to you too, hope it is a white one rather than black.
The 'dog' has now officially been named Shadow, mostly cos he hasn't left my side all day Had another lovely walk, amazingly warm out there, certainly didn't need the coats & scarves we wrapped up in. Hoping now he will have a bit of a sleep so I can get some baking done without tripping over him every 5 minutes. So pleased with him, he is a darling.

Awww, what a happy picture! and that reminds me Dd - we had the loveliest rescue dog (well, a bitch actually) GSDxLab called Hodge - she'd been the companion of an elderly lady for two and a half years until the lady passed away - Hodge was the sweetest-natured thing, and for the first three months at least she was always behind me, wherever I was, at the sink, at the ir*ning board, at the cooker etc - I got used to doing a sort of shuffle backwards before turning round so that she moved and didn't trip me up! She was lovely
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Oh what a fantastic picture! As for getting the bed - can't see that happening! Though does an afternoon nap count?
Gardengirl you just reminded me I've still some wooden seats in the boot of my car I need to get out and paint! Oops! (Only been in there a week...)
Attempts to make biscotti is not going well. I'm tempted to blame the oven I always used to be a confident baker but since going gluten free most of my attempts are disasters. It's a bad sign when the birds wont touch it!

Edd I can't believe you kept all the rum for yourself.
So now I get a taster of how parents with new babies feel - every 45 minutes the sky box woke me back up fron whatever snoozing I could muster.
This confirms two things.
1. Getting the spare bedroom decorated is now a priority
2. I'll stick with dogs rather than babies
Glad your dog had a good night DD! Fantastic he's sounding so settled.
The kettle will be in all day: just give me a prod if you want a mug of tea... zzzzz
Morning all.
Best wishes Punkdoc, hope you feel well soon. Best wishes for Xmas and the new year. Hope to see you back soon, take care x
Lovely tree Panda, very pretty. Love the long legged Santa.
Edd you were up late, bet you feel sleepy this morning.
Popping out to a couple of shops this morning
TTFN x
Turkeys now in Shop, after darkly journey. Look very tasty. Now prezzy wrapping and on call for last minute shop emergencies.
