What a lot some of you are dealing with. Clari and DD - I hope you get the phone call you're hoping for, and at least you have those beautiful biscuits to help DD My kitchen table is currently groaning under the weight of the biscuits my eldest daughter has made...
Matty - what a lovely surprise for you - and a little of ray of sunshine for the darker days.
Happy birthday Mr Dove - will there be cake? I'm ever hopeful
Glad things are getting sorted Verd. It will put your mind at rest. Don't spoil that niece of yours now..
doc - I ate a load of chocolate covered nuts last night. Naughty step for us I think - to contemplate a bit of dieting in the New Year perhaps
Susan P - not much I can add to what everyone else has said. What a result spotting her and the police getting there. I hope she gets a good outcome. I've sent you a PM.
Cold wind, sleet and hail here. Lovely More tea needed
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I hope things work out for everyone waiting for something. When 2 of my childrens' bags were stolen from my car they were eventually found in a wood and the Police sent them to our village Mairie. Money was gone but all keys and papers were still there, but too late - we'd got replacements.
Really must get on with some HW today. Then put the tree up. But need to get logs in before I clean sitting room. Still raining and it means pushing wet wheelbarrow across tiled floor so I'll have to wash floor afterwards.
Local carol service tonight then meal in village restaurant.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Glorious morning here in Stockton, sun lighting up the garden shrubbery and not a cloud in the sky, decorations are up for the grandchildren and I have a lovely big box of goodies from Betty's Harogate from my Sister, have to admit to trying the dark Hand made Grand Cru Swiss chocolate, a square each day will be nice if I can be disciplined enough.
Last year at this time was the beginning of the problem that ended with a big operation in August, now all well back to normal, my heart goes out to those with problems and the hope that like me they get through it all and back to enjoying Christmas, I will be with my Daughters and Grandchildren with a huge family party.
Merry Christmas to you all, things are speeding up I may go missing a while.
Morning have tried three times to post and the gremlins are wiping everything,
so, before it happens again,
Susan so pleased your daughter will feel so much better
frank, you are inspirational and many on this thread will take heart from you
DD try and be patient these doggie places are inundated at this time of year. I got my best ever last Feb and the lady said she was so grateful I had been patient as she was able to get thro the Christmas rush find the right dog for us. There are always an awful lot around after Christmas
Right, posting before this disappears

Susan ((hugs)) for you and daughter. I can promise you that you and your family will be having a much better Christmas than the girl who stole her bag. People don't steal things because they have happy fulfilling lives and people who love them.
We've had a day out at Gt Yarmouth - the Birthday Boy took the photographs he wanted of mothballed amusements etc, and we had very good fish and chips on the sea front. I nearly ruined everything by pulling something in my lower back when I opened the garage door early this morning - but a heat pad and painkillers are helping, and within a couple of days I'll be fine - it's just really annoying that I've been creaking and groaning a bit on OH's birthday
We were going to have a takeaway this evening, but don't have room after the huge lunch, so we're having a pizza and salad this evening and we'll have the takeaway tomorrow.

Sorry Susan - I didn't mean it was an excuse - people make their own choices and have to take responsibility for them - but just saying that she won't be having the sort of Christmas that you and we will be having - her crimes will not bring her happiness.

Sounds like a good day for most of you - especially Verdun, just testing it were you - yeah right
Some good news on the doggy front, we are good enough for the adoption people, just have to meet the dog now and hope he likes us. He sounds so perfect for our situation, I will be very upset if he turns his nose up at us.
Also, sorry don't want to seem like a show off, but so pleased (and relieved) Charlie got his school test results today and has all A's in grammar, reading, mathematics and a B in science, - amazing as he had hardly any French language when we arrived just 8 months ago. Very proud.
'Keep fit' tonight, but cake after, little bit of a end of term party for us.
Dove enjoy your pizza, BL enjoy your concert, hope to be going to one at Coussac Bonneval tomorrow in the chateau, but depends on dog situation.
Everyone else have a nice evening whatever you're up too.

Glad you had a good day Dove. Shame about your back though
Congratulations to Charlie for doing so well in his tests DD. It wouldn't hurt to smell of roast chicken when you go to meet your dog. I'm sure he will love you.
Pleased to hear that you had a nice visit with your Mum Verdun
Fairy have you done all your Christmas shopping today?
Blow me down with a feather but OH asked if I'd like to go to the GS this morning. I was ready in two minutes flat. We had coffee and cake and then I saw an obelisk I'd been after reduced to half price and at £25 for a 2.2 metre one I let him buy me one.
