Back from town. Broke into a cold sweat on arrival, not sure whether it was panic, or my chest infection.

Found plenty of stuff for me, but nothing for OH.

I quite like pampas grass, maybe it's easy to say that when you don't have any.

I had a pink pampas grass image  until last summer when OH attacked it and dug the lot out. Didn't plant it until 2002 so maybe I was late at swinging image

Pdoc thanks image I think the cold sweat is due to all the Christmas shoppers sucking up all the O2.  Pleased you liked the cartoon of me it was done years ago when I briefly worked for a circus and helped train lions image

A nice morning was had visiting OH's family image Trimming up at mum's image why did we still have two bobbins of thread used for fly fishing hidden on the bureau shelf ?  Dad has been dead 10 yrs. Maybe because the drawer it was in is now full of carp image   I can feel a cold sweat coming on image

Have a good evening all image

  • Evening all,

Busy day, wonder I didn't bump into BL, was shopping in the same town! In a rush though as en-route we stopped by some friends so OH could fix their computer - 10 mins he said - 3 hours later still there. image But really shoudn't complain, fed with lovely cake, came away with a potimarron, and some peppers fresh from the garden and a tin of black treacle, also lovely chat with lovely people, just a shame it clashed with my shopping time, hardly ever get OH to a shop! image

Then had an e-mail re dog adoption, the one we wanted has gone but another one in the pipeline, they just need to check if it likes cats. Fingers crossed again.

Dove I love people watching - when son was a baby I struggled to cope a bit with the isolation, missed the order of work terribly, but found sitting in a cafe with him, just watching the world go by very relaxing and usually some kind soul would come and chat with with me and coo at the baby. Made such a difference. image

Must dash, have to get that cute little baby (now age 7 ) from athletics club, will get moaned at if I am late, where did that cutie go???

Hugs to all that need them and also to those that don't but want one anyway. image

Verdun nominated euphorbia griffithi and oxalis purpurea as embarrassing plants. Why won't they grow in my garden when I want them? I don't like grasses, which are all the rage now. I just think they look like weeds, except the one with big pussy willow fluffy heads on it ? penisetum - I planted that one. It died. image

  • Dare I say fuchsias, monkey puzzle trees, azaleas, rhodis?

Love Monkey puzzle trees but no way in my garden. Along with Pampas the Sumach also got well and truly dug out by OH no suckers after 14 months image But I am watching image

  • Agree away with Sumach to that great compost bin in the sky.....image

  • It will be a long wait for today's monkey puzzles to reappear in my local petrol station.image
