Hi all, murky here, but going into town to buy presses for little ones. Big ones have been told that they won't be getting anything this year as I shall be making a charitable donation instead on their behalf, and I hope they will do the same for me.
Planted new hellebores in conifer corner yesterday and trimmed leaves off established plants. Signs of snowdrop noses. Not long now. Shortest day beckons.....
Good morning, it been on here for a wee while. Very sorry to hear about boilers, exploding salmon, loss of beloved pets, new dogs, old dogs and black dogs( punkIt will pass)
no gardening here just too cold. However passed local grower yesterday whose cyclamens were magnificent. Just had to have 3 for £10 However I am not very good with them except I know they dont like to be too warm, any tips?
everyone seems very busy, We seem to be quiet this year, but I am turning that into a positive as I know next year will be hectic.
Have a good day everyone

Thanks for pm KEF, you are very wise and kind, although I would prefer to think of you as in Dove's cartoon!
Going to drag myself into town, to try and find pressies for OH.
Roll on the lighter days and my holiday in the sun in January.
I can assure you Pdoc, it's a very good photo of KEF
Now I have more time in the day, when I go into town I try to find a nice place to have coffee and sit by a window and people watch - don't know why but I always feel a bit better about myself afterwards
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hope you're all well or getting better as the case maybe!
Trying to catch up but such a busy time of year with you all preparing for Christmas that it's a bit difficult!
Im so very sorry about your little cat Liri, so sad and hope your other little one enjoyed her treat snuggle on the bed with you last night
LP how do you already know next Xmas will be a hectic one? Does it mean your family will be in the uk? Hope so
We had structural surveyor come yesterday and all went well, lovely man, till just before he left a dear little mouse decided to leg it around the downstairs pursued by my little girl cat who was swiftly followed by Beau!
Right better get dressed and cracking! Have a good day everyone and hope to be looking in again later
Mine is huge, never get around to dealing with it, but it's not in the flower garden, it's on the verge of the drive by the veggie garden so it can just get on with it.
Been shopping for last of the presents and Christmas bits and pieces. I found crackers!! French don't usually do them. In a shop called Gifi, a bit like the old Woolworths. Tom Smith ones with a little film to tell the French what to do with them. Hope someone buys them.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Sorry Edd. We had some pompous grass when we moved in but soon cut it down to size. I still regret the fact that we made so many ladybirds homeless Didn't see any till we were near the base

40 years ago it was very fashionable to plant a pampas grass, no matter how small your garden. I certainly filled a small front garden with one.
I wonder what today's "embarrassing mistake" plant is? Any nominations?
Sorry Edd

Pampas grass has the right to be pompous - it's a favourite hibernation spot for hedgehogs!!!
Be carefull when cutting back and make sure first that someone's not living in there
