Thin layer of ice on some sheltered puddles this morning, no rain forecast today. Will be doing the last jobs of the year in the garden. That feels a bit mixed as it will be the end of an epic year out there. (and I'm sure I'll sneak out and find something to do now and then before New Year!)
Very icy this morning and had to be careful going down the lane because of black ice. Even the dog was slipping about. Think I'll stay in and do some Christmas cooking.
Good to see you Fg thought you must be busy supervising all those Christmas Elves etc, plus that tv job you've got working for M&S - who's your friend?
Lily, Santa Smilies are on the Tech Team's list - problem is they're responsible for a whole load of websites .........
Lovely half moon floating in a clear blue sky here
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. Today is my big day for making mince pies for the Carol Service tomorrow.
Yesterday I bought another bird feeder for fat balls to hang on the lilac on the kitchen terrace. It was ignored yesterday but this morning there is a blue tit on it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Today is a beautiful day lucky 13th my granddaughters birthday I go to the family party later. Hannah has her friends do tomorrow at the indoor cart track, last time she went she drove them all off the track, that's my girl.
it is a solid white frost zero temp though clear sky and the sun showing its face, the last flowering fuchsia are shedding flowers and leaves, it has been a very good year for them. The garden can sleepnow until after new year, all the tidying up is done.
Someone has to keep them in check Dove - it's a very busy time of year for me as you know....
I must be out of practice - that previous post should have read 'not been above 2 degrees'. At least we haven't been without a boiler like chicky - that happened a bit earlier in the year for me. Disgraceful attitude from them though - I'd have told them to stuff their guarantee if they couldn't get an engineer out same day, or told them I was getting a plumber and they would get the bill...and a Merry Christmas to them as well....
I see some forum members are having troubles so I'm sending a huge hug to all. Fidget - my deepest sympathies. We always think our parents will go on forever. Worse at this time of year when everyone else always seems full of cheer. It's a time for reflection as well as celebration and for counting our blessings if we are in a good position in our lives.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Am trying to work out what needs doing today, and what I've got left to buy on the pressie front - I know I've got OH's stocking still to do and some pressies for friends to get.
Not been on here for a few days, unfortunately years of lung abuse has caught up with me, a nasty chest infection being the result. Hopefully better by Christmas.
Enjoy yourselves.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
