I seem to have spent all day on the A1.  Two and a half hours to Gateshead, two hours there for MIL 90th Birthday Party. Two and a half hours drive back. If she'd woken up for more than 3 minutes it might have been worth it.image

Early night for me I think.  Have a good evening folks.

  • I'll get Nurofen heat patches - my daughter suffers from sciatica as well - is going for xrays shortly.  I'll get some for her too.

FB - think you deserve an early night ((hugs)) - my Pa spent his 90th birthday in a coma - wrongly prescribed mix of medication image

Hi Lizzie - did you make it to the Weald and Downland museum?

Yes, we did. It was very quiet as it was a Thursday and they were preparing for a fair at the weekend. Also cold and windy, but very beautiful and interesting. Then watched the programme "Tudor Monastery Farm" on i player, lovely to see it in summer, in action.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Dove, when you get the patches make sure you then don't wear huge heavy jumpers, they need a slight air flow to activate and aren't that effective if you're all bundled up.

Also - find a modern pilates course, its not going to leave you pouring with sweat and feeling like you're about to keel over but its really good for building up the muscles and weight bearing / strengthening. it also adapts itself to work whichever part of your body needs it the most.

Finally (I do ramble so - been dealing with bad backs & broken bits for 9 yrs now) if she doesn't already get your daughter to try a TENS machine. you don't need the ones that cost 100s of pounds I found my best one (I have 4) is one that cost under £15 from Boots. once you know where to put the pads I find it can kill the pain of a siactic flare instantly.... sooo much better than morphine!

Has anyone heard about the new BBC gardening programme Grow Make Eat? Chris Evans just made it on the radio.

Morning Clarington. Big fan of pilates, made a big difference to my flexibility (as measured by an annual work medical - so not just in my head!).

Not heard of that new programme - are the BBC trying to spoil us image
