    nut I totally agree image

  • Glad things are going well Andy. image

Just started a light drizzle here so in for a cuppa.  When I filled the barrow with the 1st load of compost earlier, I couldn't push it - flat tyre, so had to find the pump.. image

Should have got a solid replacement wheel methinks - probably ran over some hawthorn prunings last time out - I often find those embedded in the soles of my gardening boots.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Good afternoon all.

A bit late in wishing you well, Andy but hope everything is okay soon.

Bob, my usually good dog (ahem) used to chase the wheelbarrow and bite the wheel. I found something in Wilkinsons that claimed to mend punctures in mountain bikes etc. It's a green sludgy stuff that you squirt into the tyre and then blow it up again.  It was brilliant and enough to do two wheels relly cheap too.

Jatnik - trying to PM you but it's not happening at the moment.  Will try later.

Dove - I have 'book marked' your friends kitchen - thanks - it looks really good.  Sorry I can't  PM at moment - it doesn't seem to work.

  • Thanks for that idea PPam - I'll definitely try it as the tyre appears to only have a slow puncture so that stuff sounds ideal. image

  • Forester, I can't PM either - looks like the gremlins have got in.

I've got one of her recipes simmering in the slow cooker (lamb saag) and it smells wonderful - the spicing is spot on - I'll be making a Tarka dal and this as well.

Back from visit to England. Lawn very long, but sodden. It's rained until the last 2 days here when it turned cold and frosty. Think we had better weather in Sussex! Snow forecast mid week. Want to plant my tulips, but will have to wait.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Hi Lizzie - did you make it to the Weald and Downland museum?

  • Hurrumph - not at all sure if this retirement thingy is good for me - first week I had a stiff neck and shoulder - today I bent over to pick up an onion and something in my back went ping!

This is ridculous - I've got so unfit since I've been office-based.  I've got to get a bit fitter before I start digging a new flower border - if anything else goes ping I'll mess up my trip to Russia!!!

Need to find some gentle exercise classes somewhere!!!
