The weather was awful on the way down to Suffolk, and we had to drive very carefully through three areas of significant flooding in the Waveney Valley - any deeper and I'd have turned around and called the trip off.
Anyway we got there but it was too wet to take Pa to the Parade and Silence, so OH and I watched the service from Whitehall with them.
After we'd been there a couple of hours it was their lunchtime, so we left and went to the war memorial to place a cross for Pa's younger brother who was killed over Germany in 1944 - he's buried in Kiel cemetery.
By then the rain had stopped and the sun was shining, and OH and I went for a stroll and lunch on the on the the pier.
Now I'll have a read back and see what you lot have been up to ....
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Beginning to make real progress now - so satisfying to see a nice clean border. About another three weekends and I will have done one completely. But what a beautiful day - love sunny autumn days
Just had a bath - could hardly move my muscles ached so much last Monday - so hope this does the trick
Does anyone want to suggest what's for dinner? Himself is currently away helping a friend clear out of the house he's been renting and truth be told as happy as I am to cuddle up into my blanket I get the impression he'll want feeding when he gets home and beans on toast wont cut it!
Evening all. Re Cannas, they do not need to be kept dry. I pot mine up, chop all the foliage off, but keep compost slightly damp. It works fine and I followed the advice of Christo, who thought that they did better if kept slightly damp.
Been for a lovely walk on the moors above our house today, now tucking into a nice St. Emilion, which we were having with dinner, but got thirsty before dinner was ready.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

Clari - we've just had some spicy squash soup from the freezer with wholemeal toast - there's some left if that's any good?

Evening all
Boy did we have fun this weekend
None of the girls seemed particularly sad so that was a good thing. We were there if they needed us though.
We did some vegetable carving
and played games in the dark
We also identified birds and trees
I am a trifle tired now mind - but happy tired
And you've never looked lovelier Panda
