Come to Sheffield instead David. Our hotels have non of that pretentious because we're in a popular city we can charge silly amounts of money for a bed in a room no bigger than Doves wardrobe.
Sweet dreams everyone! I'm tucked up in bed looking at the allium offer wondering just where I might be able to squeeze them in. Alas I don't think there is any space
Morning, looking a bit brighter here than yesterday, got rained off gardening in the afternoon but did manage a good tidy up over the week end, hedge trimming and leaf raking etc. plus a few haircuts for some plants.
Also managed to get under some bushes for the first time and have a sort out, think the previous owner got a bit carried away filling some gaps and now it is extremely overcrowded in there. Found a poor little hibiscus fighting for light, going to try and move it today now it has had a good water.
Got some seeds ordered too for next year too, fingers crossed I can get them all going, didn't get anything too tricky, steady away and all that.
Be popping in later, enjoy your day and hope weather is kind to you all.

Agree with Clari , David, a detour via Sheffield would be worth it and cheaper than one night stay in the big smoke!
Dd you are so organized, put me to shame! Must, must get in the GH and make room for overwintering if I do nothing else. Already worried about lavender stoekthingy, gave it a clipping at the right time but think a bit too close to the bone (not into old wood but now looks very sorry for itself), the least I can do is give it a bit of warmth over winter.
At last something is looking brown and autumnal - just the one hosts! Everything else is green and zingy! Well maybe not quite zingy... The fushia is putting on a superb show, more flowers than ever! Will try and get a pic.
Back to school for kids, back to routine, back to loads of traffic...bring on Xmas hols!
Morning all. Working from home today and am hoping to get the rest of my tulips planted - although I am a little put to shame as I've read Maid Marion (I think it was) mentioning the 100s she'd planted. I've only got five to get in the ground but everytime I get chance to be outside I get distracted!
Damp here and cool - not sure how cool yet as I've not been outside!
Work or me too and other things to do after work so won't be outside. The starlings seem to have fallen for my 'out in the open' feeder and aren't troubling the more secretive one which the little birds use. The dunnocks have learned how to use the hanging one quite happily and I saw a coal tit popping in and out the other day so I think that's the solution. Saw a butterfly on Saturday - must be the last of the year surely - don't think I've ever seen on as late as that.
Take it easy DD - although I know it's hard when you have a lot to do.
They're not so tough those lavenders MrsG. A house next to my work has been landscaped and half the lavender edging looks knackered already. Very bad choice for the position. I doubt the Agapanthus will fare much better!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Good morning all temp down to 9.2C overnight here but up to 11.2 here now Chicky - the heating came on this morning. It's jolly soggy here too - you'd need a sou'wester here!
I've just been out in my dressing gown to put the brown bin out for collection - that's the problem with coming home in the dark from a day out - we didn't see the people opposite had put their brown bin out - they're very reliable
Who was it said about Pat Dogs for Pa? Yes, the Lovely Home were looking into it but last I heard from them they'd not heard back - I'll have to check next time I go.
