Hello Gardengirl... I just missed your earlier greeting as I was on my way out to the Shop Committee meeting. Not as cold tonight... I lost my dahlias last night so will have to tidy them up soon. Will be leaving all my dahlias in this year so as to cut down a bit on my workload. Not as much energy as you, any more.
It was a nice day today, went shopping for C pressies for OH's daughter and grandchildren.
Was hoping to meet potty gardener at GC, but I wasn't able to give her any notice and didn't manage to contact her.
Tomorrow we are going to the Weald and Downland Museum where the Tudor Monastery Farm was filmed. Then we are going to look round Chichester, then see King Lear at the theatre.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Have a great time at the open air museum Lizzie - looks like another sunny day, so perfect for it. It is the standard day trip for every primary school in Hampshire/Surrey/Sussex - so have been there a few times, but never tire of it. Its so easy to imagine that you are really in that time period as you wander round - be prepared to cover 5 centuries in a few hours
My bareroot David Austin roses (3x the Fairy - thanks to Matty for the photo and inspiration) arrived yesterday. Moved them into the porch to keep out of the frost and will plant them up tomorrow (i have Fri pm off work).
Good morning Chicky and any/everyone else who's up and about No frost last night but it's too dark and wet to go out into the garden to see if Hefty the hedgehog ate his supper - he didn't visit the night before so maybe he's getting sleepy - last year he seemed to doze for a few nights, then pay us a visit, then doze again, before definitely going into a deep hibernation in December.
Our ash tree leaves haven't all fallen yet, and last year he waited until a crisp dry day when the lawn was covered with leaves, then he came out in broad daylight to collect some for his Hefty House.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hello all, it's "off to work" for me... after a break of 14 years!. Small conference on Community shops, how to run them more profitably etc. Best bib and tucker, briefcase and all ( latter needed a good dusting.)
Weather report - woken by very heavy rain in the night, dry now abit of sunshine, and as kef says very very windy.
museum sounds good Lizzie, enjoyed the programme last night, even though didn't really intend watching at first, just planned to see what it was about.
OH found our house and garden on google earth and its been updated to include the new path.
