Hello, just a quick hello, got houseful of guests needing lot of looking after, meals & all. Hardly any chance to get in garden other than to dig up potatoes, grab some green beans and a few raspberries for garnishing chic cheesecake. Paella tonight with an apple dessert, made from garden apples. Had a v. quick flick thru, all busy as usual. My bedding plants looking good so autumn bedding can wait for now, luckily. Have good day everyone, will peep in later if poss. Need advice re. Rose garden/rockery, been told I have ideas all wrong!

Didn't do anything that I planned to do, but I have moved rose Golden Beauty, will just have to wait to see if it survives. The border looks much more balanced now and I can't wait until next year to see what it all looks like. All I have to do now is investigate what plants I can add to put a bit of spring colour in there.
BM will be back tomorrow i think, those shifts she does are unbeliveable! Dont know how she does it
Ive been struggling with this stupid phone, will have to flutter my eyelashes at OH for a new one, im no good at this stuff! Also been trying to get back to the gym, but after getting ready to go today, i fell asleep til about 12:30, so not a huge amount of anything done today!
My parcel of plants came late morning, but I've only had time to pot on half of them, over 200, mostly pansies and violas. Lunch, car to garage, 2 visitors, watered pots and now it's to late. Will have to finish tomorrow morning, but going out to lunch.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Ooh that sounds nice Verdun, Ill have a look at it. Bekkie's right I have been looking at that book again, I think I need to put it back on Amazon. I'm dreading the winter as whenever it rains I end up buying more plants or seeds on the internet, if we have a heavy snow fall I'll end up bankrupt!
Just bought a few pansies today, I wanted specific colours which I couldn't get at the GC.
Day 2 of getting OH up and moving was a success Short walk done yesterday, bit of a longer walk done today Baked potatoes are in the oven following a nuking in the microwave. Later will be baking milk scones and cheese scones Am feeling like a domestic goddess

I thought your social life was going to be a little quieter Lizzie
Glad your plants arrived and you are half way there now.
DD - is it because you live in France that you have chic cheesecake
Don't know how you manage all the guest, cooking, cleaning and the garden.
Hope you have managed to have a more relaxing day Yvie. I'm sure your rose will be OK - it's a good time of year to move it.
Good deal with your bulbs Gg and at least you don't have the watering job now
Are you winning the battle of the leaves lily? They just keep coming
Matty your pear and vanilla jam sounds so different and ideal for frangipane tart. Your making me hungry.
Bekkie - we have been on shifts today. I fell asleep this afternoon. Hope the eyelash fluttering works
BL - you'll need a lie down in a darkened room after that lot
of course, if you weren't a 'lady who lunches' - you could have them all done tomorrow...

I've cut the grass and now waiting for dinner. Acidantheras have opened so I put a pic on one of the pic threads
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
