I cant go Charlie Dimmock, for the same reason I don't run. Grave danger of knocking myself out.
I've taken cuttings off Amistad and a couple of other salvias, and my argyranthemum paris daisy. I've also emailed Hayloft about the phlox plants ordered in April, delivered in July , and 7 out of 12 still not come up. This was a surprise, I was expecting 2 to resurrect from the dead looking roots that were sent. I also emailed Parkers to see where my bulbs were, I want to get them in before I go away. Parkers replied 30 mins later, will be sent this week. Hayloft , only an automated reply....
OH has gone to get his holiday jabs. My arms ached for three days after, I gather thats a good sign, it shows an immune response. Now I've only got to find the suntan lotion that I bought in early August and someone has tidied into a safe place....
Curry for tea. These onions are really strong this year, I can't get the smell off my hands.
Evening all. Busy day today so haven't had much time to look on here. Girls all kitted out with new specs so they're happy even if my bank balance isn't..
Dove - if you're going for a pull on type, you'll need that machine on Wallis and Gromit to help
I couldn't possibly go CD either..and I've passed them on to my girls too
No time to garden today but the birds have been enjoying their new bath - at least the two young magpies have.
Hope you have a lovely night BL. 27 again?
Off for a look round while the ham cooks for dinner.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fidget, my Parkers bulbs arrived yesterday, so definitely on the move and what fantastc bulbs they are, the hyacinth collection of large size are beautiful. I buy them every year, never ever been dissapointed. The after service is brill as you have found out.
Have you tried the Gypsy collection? They are superb
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Been out in the garden, tidied pots , weeded, repoted agapanthus, took some plants out of pots and put them in the ground.
Sat in the sunshine with cuppa and a few GW mags. Lovely day.
Looks like a quiet day on here again, so everyone must have been busy.
Just looked at the forecast for weekend and its thunder storms We were going to go to London for the day......its my birthday day.....perhaps we will go another day now Wanted to go to see poppies and have a good wander round
Best go and get washing in before it starts to get damp.
Been at it all day in the garden, but got caught up in lots of little jobs so didn't get as far as I wanted with continued digging up of bed. Have removed the poor little walnut tree though, absolutely no room for another one. Also, have a feeling might have dug up and composted some red hot pokers in error. Just looked like overgrown field grass from farmers field.
Afraid the bamboo got another dose of poison, sadly seems the only way to curtail it but it has never affected the main plant so don't feel too guilty. Next year - maybe - will put one of those ditches around it to stop it escaping it's allotted patch. Maybe the year after though, looks like a tough job.
My clematis have come out in flower too Fidget, but this month has been way hotter than August and no rain either, had the hose out tonight, doesn't seem right.
My magnolia is doing a fancy thing too, has gone all pink and I think there are some red seeds on the way - do you think they are worth planting - any ideas?
Off to read up about caring for a lemon tree, have been given one as a present, no label or anything so might have to make a few guesses. Looks very healthy though.
Good night all.

Did I miss winter?
I've got primula viallii and clematis montana in flower. Also a discovery apple I summer pruned for fruiting buds has responded by flowering.
