Hi all, been up the road and then home to lovely sunshine so deadheading done and foods harvested image

On menu tonight, steak with peppercorn sauce & veg ..no chippies had them once in last week, so home grown carrots, runners, new spuds, and broccoli from freezer...courgettes & toms in some way shape or form tomorrow. image  Had my cranberrry juice this morning and had a banana so I'll have eaten my five image Don't think the two gardener's delight I scoffed in GH count image

Panda hope the funeral went as well as they can hugs x

I love being on the water, daughter of a chap who loved fishing in the hebrides, OH okay on speed boats & small fishing boats, a ferry to Santander & the Bay of Biscay did him in imageimage I told him you should sail on a full stomach just in case, he took no notice so wretched for England. KEf had to dine and slurp lager & vino alone both ways imageimage OH did enjoy tonic water..Not.

Me too.  Trouble is, sailing and gardening both happen mostly in the summer so there's a clash - not sure which I prefer actually.  Yes I am.

I bet you'd be fine - there's a job for all abilities and aptitudes on board; anyone can learn (well, at least everyone I've sailed with in the last 18 years has) at least the basics of steering, sail trimming and ropework in their first week, and then there's lookout duty, collision regulations (well, anti-collision regs), navigation, cooking (home-grown produce please!) and the cameraderie of living on board.

Maybe we should have a gardeners' cruise?

  • Well, here I am again...  image  Thanks so much, BM.  You're very sweet!  image

OH has gone out so I've leapt to the top of the laptop queue.  image  (Sounds very energetic but I'm still sitting down...)

Not a lot of gardening today cos I had to do dreaded H....w..k this morning, then spent most of the afternoon with Mum.  Just time to sprinkle organic slug pellets round the newly-planted wild flowers on the bank, and fill the bird feeders, before making tea.  I'd kind of imagined that wild flowers would be fairly slug-proof, but that's not true of ox-eye daisies at least...  image

Help, just noticed the time!  Better get my skates on - going out tonight...  Have a good evening everyone.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Sailing - not for me im afraid Steve. Well ON the boat would be ok, not seasick and would quite enjoy the rough ride I think - dix you mention wine as well? But! Get a splash of water on me or tease me about going overboard and I would definatley turn into a feeble crying wreck!

Work was actually ok today, must be at least a year since I've thought that ( in fact I know exactly when, it'll be 2 years in Feb but that's a long story). Hope Fri will be ok too, the other 3 days ill be doing my other job which is always a pleasure.

Must find some time for gardening, HW and paper,/computer work.

    Have stood evening.

I'm hoping to go on a boat on Lake Garda, but that's not the same thing as real sailing! My brother used to race, but I preferred horses.

Went to the big hypermarket with friends who are staying, they are coming to Italy with us. We lunched at the Wok place, Chinese, they cook your meal in front of you.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
