OL - deep breath and relax.  Just make sure you have passports, tickets, money or cards and any medicines.  They are importantimage  You really must remember the new flip-flops and everything else you want to wear - then it's up to them.

Once many years ago Mum and Dad went to Tenerife. When they unpacked he had no trousers.  They were all neatly lined up on the rail at home.

Must admit to list making.  There is a list of all the plants I'd like jotted on pieces of paper randomly strewn about the house that I think I'll remember.  It's hard enough to afford the ones I findimage

We once went on holiday and OH had no undies or socks.....it WS of course totally my fault and 'why didn't I check my b****y list off'.......why didn't he check the packing image

Lesley, I am trying to delegate some responsibility so that it isn't all my fault, I think all 3 of my boys are big enough and old enough to take care of themselves!! image

Anyway, I'm off now, I have a date with Paul Hollywood (and Mary Berry) imageimage

    Night all x

    Very mixed day for me.

Today I was told a story by Mrs Woodhead who was upset by the Doctor. She had gone to see him with ear trouble, and he asked what she had been using. Cuprinol ear drops. She wasn't amused that the doctor fell about laughing. We hope she had been using cerumol ear drops but you never know...

Then I got a phone call. Dad fell over in early hours of this morning, spent 8 hours on a trolley, then admitted, then moved onto side ward. Heart failure worse. When I got there the family had been told to expect the worse. Then he rallied and sent us all home so he could get some sleep.

Now I need some. So  hope for better news tomorrow.

No time to  read rest of thread. so I hope everyone is OK, and if I am not around for a bit you know why...

Oh Fidget, so sorry to hear about your dad, I do hope he is ok.  You try and get some rest, don't worry about us we will still be here when you have a minute and obviously here for support. BIG hugs xxx

I've got a chainsaw already Fairyimage Just too frightened to use it nowimage  Our neighbours fence timbers are rubbish and keep falling off and we have a few bits of wood we can replace them with but are too long.  My wrists are not as strong as they used to beimage Hence electric saw. Do you want a chainsaw Fairy?

Fidget, I thought the first story was going to be a joke.

So very sorry your dad is poorly, hope he gets better soon, very best wishes to you and your family. Hugs xx

Really feel for you fidget.  So glad he rallied enough to send you home.  It is a real shock when it happens so suddenly.  Thinking of you and your family xx

  • Enjoyed Bake Off and having a quick catch up before bed - some of the threads on here are very lively aren't they! No idea what they are all about, can't work out abbreviations but v. interesting.image

Regarding holiday lists, don't you just throw in a bikini and be done with it, maybe a cardi if it gets chilli in the evening? Wash & Go is my thinking! image

Hope you have a lovely time when you all get where you're going, sounds like you have all worked hard for the break. image

My day in the garden went to pot today, started trimming an overgrown rose, 3 hours later had a trailer (did I mention I have a new trailer?? - love it!) full of trimmings and a trip to the tip followed - rose thorns so sharp took a while to unload. Rose looking a bit scary now - do or die, poor thing was a tangled mess. May or may not survive image

Supposedly just dropping son off at a friends after that, felt obliged to have a shower beforehand as I look a little roughed up to say the least, as in pulled through a rose bush backwards - anyway son's friend's mum insisted I stay for coffee and another 3 hours later time to go home and get dinner on - poor garden neglected again! image

Guest coming Monday - how inconvenient - have to clean house again, only did it last week - and dress halfway respectable image

Like a few others on here I am only one qualified for HW, dishwasher, washing machine, vacuum, even laundry basket obviously far too complicated for the men in the house to operate - or even acknowledge exists. image

Goodnight all, will try & squeeze a peek in tomorrow!

Which abbreviations DD?  WUM? = Wind Up Merchant - someone that likes to cause trouble imageimage Can't think of any other abbreviations today.....oh, GBBO = Great British Bake Off image That's all I think.

How inconsiderate of your guest, but if they are paying at least you will have some plant money.....if not paying make them help in the garden so you can catch up image
