Hever castle and Batemans, in fact there are so many lovely houses and gardens in Kent, I wouldnt like to say which is the best. I used to live in the Weald and was always out somewhere.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
We'll we didn't go to the beach, just as week we checked the tide table before leaving as it was high tide!! The dogs would have been most disappointed.
So we walked 6.30 miles down to the river and across some fields, a lovely walk with my big boy, OH and beags
Tummy hugs.....yes Lily that is the funny feeling you get in your tummy when you have a bug, did you not know (winky face)
Bekkie, I keep getting you and BM muddled up, but you both know who I mean....you both chat so much I lose track Have a lovely time at your mum's birthday and happy birthday to her x
OL Bekkie and I have recently realised we are twins separated at birth so that's prob why you mix us up
Six mile walk!!! Hope your ankle ok
Still raining here, first time we have had full on rainy day in weeks!
we met new sitter for Beau this morning who was loverlee, went with her and four other dogs for walk up the fields and got soaked but Beau loved it
Gonna have lazy afternoon reading and drinking tea with the heating on low
Shame you don't live near Dixter Star gaze as really fancy, didn't realise so far from me too! Sissinghurst sounds great too Yviestevie so please put my name down if someone plans Or of course we can start the ball rolling if you fancy?
Love to your mum Verdun and glad sun is coming out for you now x
Happy rainy days of cooking etcs to those I have missed
Tomato soup and cheese scones sounds good. Its raining here but the potatoes under the top oak are still bone dry, so I've put a soaker hose on.
Hope your mum shows some improvement soon, Verdun.
I found a new (to me) nursery on t'interweb. Norwell nurseries near Newark. Not too far for me to pick mum up and take her for the day out. They are shut all August though, so in a couple of weeks I think, for late Autumn colour. There is a garden and pond attached as well.
Happy for someone else to arrange BM would like to go at time of year when we can get the most out of seeing those wonderful borders. When would you suggest.
I'll have a look on the website and see what they say Yviestevie, on the programme you watched last night was it current time or pre recorded? Maybe we could work that out and then sort from there
Drizzle all day and now proper rain for the garden, but wish it wasn't only 13c. I've actually had the heating on for an hour to air the house and dry towels.
Feel sorry for peeps who work and this is their bank holiday
Verdun hugs I'm sorry to hear that your Mum is back in hospital.
Dove I'm pleased you are getting the leak sorted quickly. Wish your shoulders and arms could be so easily repaired..hugs.
Lizzie, as Dove says hugs from a distance, hope you recover quickly. A lovely Irabian intestine specialist once told me ( many moons ago, when I was in Spain) that alcohol and "gazzy" water combined was the best thing to kill intestine bugs. His name wasn't Smirnoff Wonder if Pdoc would agree with that one
OL I hope that ankle has been ok
So many posts so soz to who I've missed. Lily I'm obviously the one ignoring youx
Housekeeping done in GH, beans picked in drizzle, and now considering what to cook. Chard, runners, courgettes, beetroot, new spuds, toms all on offer, don't fancy lettuce, rocket and stuff, comfort food fancied ...have pork & tomato sausages from farm shop that will deffo be eaten ..nearly had them for breakfast Do have some homemade Yorks puds in freezer

Have you been Nut?. Is it worth a day out? The Yorkshire contingent can come down the A1. I suppose you could come up it?
