Fairy there was an article a short while ago where a researcher found that the (Brits/English) were worse than the Germans at hogging sunbeds.image  No way could I lie on a sunbed all day (OH can) so I see a lot more of places than himimage

Please don't talk about bugs in fruitimage  Don't want to talk about it.

It's lovely Lesley, not a sound except the noise of the keyboard clicking and the odd car.  Just had a lovely shower and I'm now curled up in dressing gown on the bed, feeling really lazy today and I've no idea why.  Mind you I'm babysitting this evening while firstborn and SIL go out for a meal as it's his birthday today.  I'm not staying over though as I want a good nights sleep in my own bed.

Thanks for the reply re plants Bekkie.  I have got some of those self watering trays so I'll set those up and the roof window has an automatic opener on it so hopefully they should be OK.  My friend will pop round a couple of times to check they are OK.

I had a tree sugeon pop round last night.  I inherited a varigated Acer which is quite close to the house.  It's been pruned quite a few times by various people and by the look of it some of them weren't particularly skilled.  The last few years the leaves have not been great and it's been looking pretty sick.  I really like where it is because it provides lovely shade for the conservatory and the patio at the hotest time of the day.  The tree sugeon however has said that I need to cut it down as it is diseased and is never going to recover.  He did try and rescue it last year and said then that I really should get rid of it but I gave it one more year.  Im a bit fed up about it as not only do I like the tree but I have a beautiful jasmine growing through it.  He is also going to trim the dreaded leylandii as they are getting a bit bushy now they have been topped.

I love looking after them Bekkie but you forget what hard work it is, especially when they feel poorly.  But one big smile through tears and all the tiredness is forgotten.  I love them at this age (14months) because its when they start looking for naughtly things to do.  They wait for you to say no, shake their heads and then do exactly what they arent supposed to do with a big smile on their face.  Eldest granddaughter is going through the ugly duckling stage at the moment.  No front teeth, hair always falling out of ponytails and permanently looking like shes been dragged through a hedge backwards.  Its even worse when shes allowed to choose her own clothes to wear, never mind she thinks she looks absolutely georgeous.

  • Hi everyone. This is my first post via my phone. Have never managed to log in this way before. Just as well as this is the only internet I have at present. So sitting on my terrace drinking tea and enjoying the view. 3 sheep and a flock of guinea fowl on my paddock.

Thanks for all your nice comments. I am dead chuffed with how it has turned out. Probably exceeds my expectations. Can't find the smileys yet but I'm sending a virtual one. Thanks to GG for helping out. Another smiley.

Fairygirl, you don't need to apologise I was joking, well not joking about being born in Germany because I was but I am well and truly British (dad was in the RAF) and your comment made me laugh image

Lesley, you don't need to apologise either......I'm playing in it a but it get my own way, far too many baby plants and they won't cope in the cold, so a cold frame is now essential image When are you going home?  You're not heading up over the bank holiday weekend are you? Hope all is well with your dad.

Awww Yvie, I loved that age too, although my boys didn't like me putting pigtails in image They are so cute but if I was a mum again I would definitely learn to say yes when I mean no and visa versa image

My birthday is in September and I'm a Virgo too. Supposed to be a home loving perfectionist. Is that why my house gets so untidy?
