Morning all. Dry but dull here. When I was out with the dog we disturbed two deer who were hidden in the long grass and just saw their cottontails bounding away
KEF if I send my list will you get my groceries at SM please. The car is in for it's MOT today
Hope your guests enjoy their stay DD and that your weather brightens up too. That always inspires I'm sure your house is always spick and span Dove
Hope the workers have as good a day as poss. Did you remember the chicken Bekkie?
Sneaky catch up from the Salt mine - these mine owners are very generous letting us miners have interweb access
I'm super dooper thanks Lily Just struggling to get up in the morning and find the time to eat, survey the garden, get dressed and then get to work I'll get back into the routine soon . . . . hopefully . . . .
When I went to Oulton park the other week there was actually a road sign for a salt mine, I tried taking a pic but OH was driving too fast
Have a good day Panda and any other miners (including me). KEF, can I give you my list too and Lily, if you get bored I have deadheading and weeding that needs doing
I forgot to comment on Corfu yesterday Lesley, did you like it? We went a few years ago and loved it, couldn't decide this year between Corfu and Crete but have never been to Crete so that got the vote
As you know there are a lot of salt mines in Cheshire, OL and as it happens a few near to me.....in fact, there is a little village named 'Salt' close by and this is the village pub named 'The Holly Bush'.
I didn't realise you were in Cheshire David, not that far from me, but I didn't actually realise there were lots of salt mines in Cheshire. That pub looks lovely I've not heard of Salt the place, I tend to go to the bigger towns when working (Sandbach and Knutsford).
I thought of the miners last week too when I had to pass the salt works in Cheshire
OL it was a cruise we were on starting in Corfu - so so didn't see much of the place though I have been before and think it's lovely (apart from the mozzies)
Lily I am waiting for the ground to dry a little before weeding. If it's sunny later perhaps you could give me a hand - no sinks here though apart from kitchen and bathroom

Aww David that pub looks lovely, I know its summer, but I bet its got a lovely log fire in the winter, great to sit round with friends and a drink
....no, I'm in Staffordshire, OL....but the salt belt must extend south. There are no salt workings these days and haven't been in my time.
I think Cheshire provides most of the salt & grit for the highways over the winter.
