Morning all. The family, 6 adults 7 grandchildren (all staying with me which is why I haven't posted, chaos, noise!) have gone to the aquarium and alligator park. I may get to do some deadheading in between making fish pie and cheesecake for tonight.
Dordogne Damsel, did you mean me or is there another one here in Dordogne?
So sad about Robin Williams.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning BL, I was thinking about you earlier and wondering how your weekend had been, I hope you've had a lovely time surrounded by your family. There is a new poster (I think) called Smokin Donkey who is also from the Dordogne.
Punk, I forgot to reply about your football comment.....twitchy doesn't even come close, I still don't think we have a full squad. We couldn't even put a full 7 on the bench last Saturday as new players hadn't been registered in time so we only had 4.... A loss was expected and it could have been worse. I'm even expecting us to get battered by Shrewsbury tonight, a cup match we could well do without really....wouldn't surprise me if Jose Riga doesn't tell them to lose so we don't have to continue in the cup fixtures!!
Hi Bizzie Lizzie - I did indeed mean you, can surely be only one of a kind! I am hoping that when (and if) I get to be a grandmother, I started a bit late son is only 6 even though I am old enough to be a granny - and feel like one some days after a day in the garden, anyway really hoping they will be the ones waiting hand and foot on me, not the other way around!
You sound like you are enjoying it anyway!

Morning everyone, Have skimmed messaged over the past couple of days but there were a lot so havent read them all. Verdun dont nag neice too much it will only make her more keen on him. (I went through this with second born). She kissed an awful lot of frogs (even married one of them) before she found her prince. Sorry you've had to go back to the salt mines BM hope you still find the time to keep in touch, Im sure you will.
Still have the pidgeon Hubby spent most of yesterday trying to catch him. He really suffered during all the bad weather. Hubby has took to calling him Percy, I much preferred some of the suggested names here, I definitely think he looks more of a Homer.
Garden didnt suffer too badly in the storm. Most things were reasonably well staked. I did lose a hollyhock but it was pretty much past its best anyway. Sorry to hear about the Tree but at least noone was injured. My brother lives in Aberdeen and they had it really bad. At one point they were sure the roof would blow off. I think we are due for a mixed bag in the coming weeks. A mixture of sun and showers so the garden will be grateful. Speak to you all soon.
OH is off to Shrewsbury for the football (I use that term loosely) with big man and little man has just been invited to a friends to sleep over, I'm dropping him off at 2pm.
So apart from working, I have the afternoon/evening to myself and need to drive past the GC to get son's friends.....garden is looking very shabby (but not chic) so the car may well do a detour
Hi everyone It seems a very long time since I was here and it's good to see a few new faces too
We had a lovely holiday but it was only for a week. Last week I was down in Cheshire as my Dad fell and broke his hip (picking sweetpeas) so I was ferrying Mum about shopping and visiting him in the intermediate care hospital where he is getting more mobile before coming home.
I couldn't use his computer as the screen wouldn't work. A neighbour sorted it just before I came home - a cable had dropped out
Drizzly day here but I managed an hour or so deadheading and looking at the weeds. Hope everyone is ok. I'll have a scan back to see a little of what I've been missing
Welcome back, sorry to hear about your Dad hope he becomes mobile soon and that everything heals well.
A quick update on Homer (as he is not called) his freedom has been curtailed and he is now in captivity. Photos below
Im sure you will agree he is a very handsome bird and hopefully we will reunite him with his owner shortly. His phone number was on his leg band have tried calling but no one around. I hope they are just at work and not a fortnights holiday!
He is now in a nice cosy box with food and water out of the rain. Will keep you posted how I get on.

Morning from the salt mine!
As we know, I am totally rubbish at the getting up and out thing and was, by way of a change, running late!
I too am saddened by the news about Robin Williams.
Hope you all have a good day
