It's still a good excuse for a nice piece of jewellery - I knew a couple who were engaged for 30 years!!! They did marry ........... eventually .............. when they were sure they were suited
Brugmansias smell nice - their scent is also hallucinogenic - think woozy Victorian ladies in conservatories
Right, must be off - see you later folks - have a good day!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Good morning everyone.... in garden for an early session before it gets impossibly hot. Think I will concentrate on rescuing all those little plants that have taken up residence in my gravel paths and drive. lots of new agapanthus, lavender and lithrium ( I think?). I will let you know what I find. Will take the rest of the irises I lifted to the Shop, where we sell them, 5 for £2. Glads. still selling like hotcakes.
Also watering in feed on lawn. Not ideal in this heat but necessary.
Morning all! Just weighed myself - eep! I thought not being near my works chocolate barrel would have helped matters but apparently that was keeping the fat from clinging I'm turning into the barrel!
Just had a call from my Mum to tell me that my Dad had a fall and broke his hip while picking sweet peas. This apparently happened on Monday and he had a hip replacement yesterday She didn't want to tell me in case it spoiled our holiday. (We go Friday morning for a week). At least she has good neighbours and some family around to run her about. I will probably go down on the Sunday after we get back. It's when he gets home that they will need extra help.
Morning all, Hope everyone has a good day, hope all the salt miners have air con. Sorry to hear about your Dad Lesley, Im sure he will be fine so dont worry too much while you are away. Mrs Garden hope you sort Roland out, I remember rats from when I was young as we had a brook at the bottom of the garden, cant stand them. I think Edd has lots of brugmansias in his conservatory (just a joke). Pauline you havent missed all of us, I usually pop in too late for most people and when I go on line at night they are all usually off to bed. Cant stay today though as I need to shower before setting off to CG with my friend. TTFN

Ho hum.
Oh dear Lesley, hope he recovers well but have a good holiday.
Ughhh !!!!!!!!!! Neighbours just been round - she's seen a RAT !!!!
There are 3 or 4 gardens it / they could be living in but it was seen near my compost area going into someone elses garden.
So the plan is to get some poison, leave it a while then inspect compost bins - which I was planning to move anyway (not sure I can do that now!).
