The plant I think you are referring to is a purple sage that I bought last year in a nursery in Holt, Nr Sherringham, Norfolk. The other plant that is between the 2 sets of Nasturtiums is a Michelin Star Gastropodium Restaurant aka Hosta! - has a silvery flower with a mauve tint.
Good you've found a car OL, we are prob looking again tomoz. List has got shorter tho. His heart likes the Jag, but our heads are telling us something else
I thought that looked like a sage John - I'm using purple sage in my new front border - it's a really effective decorative plant - it's looking great with blues, plums, purples and yellows.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hi all, glad youve all had a good day, ive slightly overdone things, but the bed looks sooo much better for it, have moved a holly that is as tall as me, divided a clump of dasies, then divided and planted a pampas grass
Got 5 really full rubble sacks of horse poo, but its only a couple of days old at the most, will empty the next bed on the agenda tomorrow and put the poo on there, happy days
Hi all. Been a bit absent this week due to car problems, extra hours at work and working in the garden, as we seem to be having the whole summer in one go here. Not had time to catch up other than a quick skim. First thing I saw on this page was Ggirl's post re her compost bins. I feel truly honoured - perhaps it could be my epitaph when I pop my clogs!
Hugs for clari and lily. Clari - all I can say is - sometimes things happen that we have no control of, and no way of sorting no matter how hard we try, but we have to look at it as an opportunity and a new beginning. I speak from experience. Lily- you'll probably look back in a month or so and say 'why didn't I do this sooner!' Love to both of you
John - nice to see you again. Garden's looking great as always. You've had a rather stressful week. I did wave when I saw you on the motorway....
Bekkie - you're so lucky to have an agenda to empty your bed onto...I'd like one of those.....
The badly needed rain we were promised for today has only just arrived so I'll have a look at what's going on while having a brew.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We've had a rain shower, it cleared the air for about 5 minutes and now it's worse. Humidity is going to get up to 95 later apparently......no wonder I have a 'muggy' headache
Done the SM shop, OH spotted a withered plant for 40p, do you want this he said, what is it - it looks like an Aubergine I replied, it is says OH - shall we grow one??? I have 5 in the GH I told him!!!....that just proves my point that he doesn't listen
Anyway, little man not on a sleepover and instead we have a friend here to stay....no bath and slouching in my nighty for me then!
