I'd cajole my neighbours into selling me a bit of their garden to add to mine image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • I have stopped watching gardening progs and buying gardening mags because I was getting depressed. So this year we have planted what we like, not what is in vogue. Our garden this year is full with all types of marigolds which we grew from seed and we will do the same next year.

I fill a lot happier in myself and with the garden this yearimage

if I had £20K I'd start by having my lake sorted... Get rid of the weed, remove a lot of the stuff growing around it without disturbing the resident wild fowl and have it stocked with fish to stop the weed coming back.

If I had any left I'd like some help in sorting out the rubbish from the good stuff in the 15 year old wood we have.

Maybe I should have made this a new thread. I haven't even thought about hard landscaping. Possibly a new patio area, winding path leading to hidden delights (well I can dream) water feature, the list could go on and on.

Maybe I should have made it £30K !!!!!!!!

I think alan t as lost his way a little,It seems he is more interested in spending large ammounts of money than showing us how to create an affordable and sustainable garden,I think Monty and his team and the team at beechgrove are more informative for us that live in the real world.

I was astounded at the money spent on these gardens but I wonder if the companies who supply the items do it for free to get the publicity, last night I noticed that Travis Perkins had their logo on show but the vehicle which brought the concrete pipe rings didn't, it looked like it could have been a jewson lorry but the logo was hidden. I was interested to find out how much the bay trees had cost but the price wasn't shown.

I saw Diarmuid Gavin on a gardening show the other week in which he made a remark about Mr T popularising blue paint in the garden which he said works in countries which have lots of sunlight but doesn’t necessarily work in the UK, I see that Mr T's still using blue paint in his schemes.

I agree Patsy - the plants at our local Waitrose are dying by the dozens - I wouldn't buy any of them - very few people are buying them and they're all outgrowing their little pots and wilting/dying in the sun - there's a very good GC up the road where the plants are well cared for by a knowledgeable team.

I would hate it if I came home one day to find that my garden had been turned into a garden room or a 'space'. It's a garden

    In London. Keen but lazy.

Probably....certainly the name 'Husqvarna' was clearly displayed on the robot mower.
