Special thanks to @wild edges  for some serious wildlife expertise. I now have a moth trap thanks to you and will use it sometime soon, I hope.

Good luck with it and if you sign up to iNaturalist to record what you catch then give me a nudge so I can snoop on what you find :)

I'm on iNaturalist - my sister recommended the Seek App to me to identify some of my photos. But it's not always accurate, or consistent.

Well that news is a bummer!

I posted on Gardeners Corner for awhile but gave up quite awhile ago because it wasn't as good as this forum. Less knowledge on the whole and even some bullying from some people.  Perhaps that's all about to change with a big mass migration with people from here.  My name there is also Redwing.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

Probably best to contact the mods directly (phone them?) to ask about options for keeping the site read-only  or to transfer the content to another host (removing the GW branding).

Have joined GC despite the fact it looks so cluttered...will get used to it eventually. Same name, awaiting authorisation of my account.

Cannot believe this is happening. I feel as if a great part of my life is disappearing somehow. I do not have the gardening knowledge to offer help to folks, but I do read the whole forum on a regular basis and enjoy not only the pictures but also reading about how many of you cope with different gardening conditions - some disasters, many successes, all are so informative and very interesting. With my age and various health issues, gardening is actually beyond me these days, but I sit outside and let my imagination run wild remembering the many gardens that I have been fortunate enough to have owned, even created, in the past, helped by all the wonderful threads on here.
But, and it is a huge but, the friendship I have found on here posting on the Forkers Thread has been amazing and so very welcome. I dont do What's Ap on my phone and am not 'techy' at all but I will give a try at joining the GC forum in the hope of finding some of you on there. Such a shame we couldn't find someone to set up a new private forum for us all to join, but such is life I guess.
So many thanks my friends, happy gardening days to you all and good luck for the future should we not meet again.
There are certainly options to create a new forum, but most likely it would involve a blank slate. Not impossible mind. Not free either - I imagine a few hundred quid per month would cover licensing and hosting etc.

This forum has been a great source of inspiration, knowledge and amusement for me for over three years and will be very sadly missed. Thank you to everyone for your generosity with time, knowledge, wit and inspirational photos! I hope this continues on Gardeners Corner, it’s easy to sign up!
