Morning all, cloudy and warm today. I have awful pain in my knee, i suppose a visit to the doctor is in order, it's the leg waiting to have the new hip. Yesterday OH was taking out an Oleander and there was an old garden lighting cable under it, still live and yes he put the pick axe though it and tripped the electrics! Anyway he has made it safe! Luckily we have an electrician coming soon so he can deal with it properly 🙄
It’s a bright start to the day and fairly mild, too.
Going to my ☕️ morning group shortly then hope to get into the garden when I get back 🤞.
Just in case I don’t get back to this thread anymore today, just want to say goodbye and thank you to all who are not migrating over to GC and wish you well - I won’t be around much to post after today before this place shuts down. Take care.
Same here, all the best to the Forkers and thanks for the happy times. I have the same name on GC, and starting to find my feet there, so hope to see you all over there. If not, all the best, and continue to enjoy your gardening go many years to come. And thanks for the virtual friendship and all the advice. Ergates
Guest have gone now and in between washing loads I have been on GC @tui34. You are right, I am sure they are asking themselves what hit them, I have asked some questions: they probably think that I have been at the Cremant (Luxembourgish champers).
Take care my loved posters, not long before shutting down time 😢
Thank you @WonkyWomble and good luck with your new job. I've seen the sign for Katie's Garden but never visited. I live in South Norfolk so when I see some of the posts from @Dovefromabove , @Busy-Lizzie and @didyw I quite often know exactly what and where you are talking about. My User name is a fairly good description of me - lazy by name, lazy by nature. I have a fair sized garden but am very much a fair weather gardener and the older I get the less tolerant I find myself of the cold and wet. There is no fun gardening dressed up like 'Michelin' man (or lady). Like others have said I no longer subscribe to GW magazine for the same reasons - too repetitive and as for the free seeds - Cosmos, basil or tomato seeds anyone? I probably had the magazine since it started until last summer and also went to the NEC show for quite a few of the early years - I can remember going to the very first one in the 90s when at the end of the Sunday show they were giving away the displays for free. Don't think it happened again - it was chaos! We went again in 2019 but not since - quite expensive and then the parking cost on top. I have joined GC and perhaps I will post more frequently as I seem to spend a lot of time wasting browsing when I should be doing other things! Like somebody else said moving to the GC forum is like going to the big school and not knowing anybody although it's nice to see more familiar names as the days go by. I need to stop lurking in these corridors and poking my head in the classrooms now and again and start using the new forum and its library of information and advice. It's nice to see the welcome GW people are receiving. Looking forward to the mugs of coffee and cake too!
Oh dear @floralies The doctor will order x-rays. The knee is probably due to the hip that has moved. Even a hairline movement will annoy the knee. So annoying. I hope all is well though. I feel as if I am crumbling away. Sore back today to boot - don't know why. Too much sitting around?
I think you are right @tui34 I've been doing a lot of bending and twisting in the garden. I'm trying hard to put off having this hip done until the autumn. The doctors have a new booking site on line Which didn't seem to like me! 🤔

Apparently around 17,500 people visited. These days it's around 100,000.
hope to see you ‘over there’ 👍
