    I have a perennial potentilla.  It's popped up reliably every spring for 23 yrs. 🙂

    I noticed that @Busy-Lizzie. It's just very odd that they'd have it in perennials when it's also in shrubs.
    I also noticed on one page, that one of the pix they used for perennials was a pelargonium. Not the best!   :)

    @Fairygirl
    Did you see any P. Cream delight on the Grassland site? I did not find any.

    I know you probably given up as a bad job now @Stevedaylilly

    If they do not show accurate images or the colour can be off. How are you as a punter who is not an expert, supposed to know how the colour should look in real life?
    You went by name and description of the size. Cream or a yellow cream is hard to tell.

    I know that in their terms and conditions they state a 14 day policy for letting them know but on their site they state this:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    4 Our products

    Products may vary from their pictures. The images of the products on our website are for illustrative purposes only. Although we have made every effort to display the indicative colours and other aspects of the plants accurately, we cannot guarantee that a device's display of the colours accurately reflects the colour and other aspects of the plants. Your product may vary from those images, and by their nature plants are unique, living, and perishable goods.

    =======================================================

    So if they are saying that , I can't see how you are supposed to be able to tell if they send you the right plant.

    That they have not even tried to meet you half way , or admitted it is their mistake.

    I doubt I would ever buy from them, but they are on my naughty avoid list for sure.

    As an aside and isn't hindsight wonderful:

    I recently bought a nice heuchera and the images online appeared to be just what I was looking for. On receipt it did not look like the leaf I was expecting. So in that case it was obvious. We sent an image with the label alongside.

    We were assured that it would colour up when older. But at least we had accurate representation of the plant on line in the first place. And a future reference if it turns out wrong.

    Edit Apology Steve I missed where you already mentioned the bit on their site Clause 4. about colours and representation. BUT they are still in the wrong.

    No @Rubytoo, but I assume they had them when @Stevedaylilly purchased - it was a good while ago. Or maybe not and they tought they could get away with a substitute.
    If you're looking for more C. Delight Steve, Burncoose is a very good supplier of all sorts of plants. They don't have stock just now, but you'll be to get a notification for when they'll have stock. I think it said summer this year on their site. They're also a much fairer price.
    The nursery I use only has large specimens just now - their Phormiums are around 10 to 12 quid for 2 litre pot specimens.
    I mentioned the fact that colours can vary due to timing etc, but also just the photos can vary with colouring.  Most of us are aware of those dodgy outlets with the doctored pix, but there's no doubt that foliage colour changes with phormiums depending on the age, site and conditions, so there can be quite a lot of 'variation with the variegation'. Easy for me to say...  ;)

    Both perennial and shrub Potentilla exist, so on this at least the nursery aren't wrong.
    How can you lie there and think of England

    Hi Fairygirl
    Just a little update
    Unknown Phormuim Flax now removed from raised boarders and given to a few neighbours who did ask me the variity  but alas no idea. Asked them to plant it in an area where it might grow big or not, so going to good homes
    it’s good that a few of you have looked at the Grasslsnds site and the ambiguous T &C’s that are not customer focused
    Still undecided what to replace them with but once it’s done I’ll send photos of my selected choice

    Yes, I’ve used Burncoose on a number of occasions and never had a problem with the quality of their plants or the service they provide
    Also they provide you the plants you have ordered which should be the first priority of any nursery or garden centre.

    Apologies - you're right @punkdoc re the potentillas.  I always forget about the ones which aren't the woody types. Still doesn't get round the fact that they've included some of those woody types in with the perennial ones. Abbotswood is definitely woody - I've had it in several gardens,  so is Goldfinger, which is a popular shrub,  and I think Red Ace is too - I'm sure  a friend had that one, although I've no experience of it myself.
    However, for me, it's the poor customer care that's worrying.
    I'm sure you'll find something you like for a replacement @Stevedaylilly. If it's a structural evergreen you want, there will be plenty of choices depending on what room you have and the soil/aspect etc.  :)

    I reckon you should buy a couple (Cream Delight) from your local nursery the one where you got the correct replacement.
    As long as you look after them  you could within a relatively short space of time have the Cream Delight split and spread out.
    It does look a very pretty cultivar, and I am not usually a fan of variegated plants generally...Bit like @Fairygirl not liking pink ;)
    At least you will know you have what you really looked for and wanted.
