That’s the one @Eustace. I rarely water mine but it’s not that lush green that you have. I will carry on with it though and see what happens. It’s hanging on by a thread though! 🙂😉
We have grown these for many years after I was given a plant back in the 1980s from a colleague. We hadn't thought that they were scented but over the years we have noticed that they are. Maybe it is because we have more plants and so more flowers. They have over 45 flowers now. We have divided them over the years and many friends in our village have divisions. The colour is so vibrant.
Many many years ago I collected the lids of margarine tubs and then sent off for some free plants. Beaucarnea recurvata (Pony tail palm) was one. It is in our unheated conservatory and is a spectacular specimen. The plant to the left is Haemanthus albiflos (paint brush plant). The original one came from Osbourne House on the Isle of Wight. It has been divided and divided over the decades with family and friends having divisions. The flowers will come later and are very long lasting.
So sorry @pitter-patter for not getting back at the time but have been unwell. Thank you for naming my two plants for me. The first one definitely has a velvety touch to it. Why the shops can't put a name to them I don't know. I see that you have one the same as me @Eustace now I know as Sanseveria.

Coelogyne cristata...just one in flower at the moment. At dusk the flowers "shine" if you know what i mean.
