Thank you @ddd77, it's a variety of Acer Japonicum, but I'm unsure which one. It was here when I moved in over 10 years ago in a very neglected state, obstructing the path. Over the years I have done some restorative pruning and raised the crown. It gives fantastic autumn colour and I'm surprised how it copes so well with such a confined space! This shows the autumn colour emerging.Â
